"Rio, some girl is at the door for you!" My sister, Paris screamed from the doorway.

I winced and almost slapped my hands over my ears. Even though I wasn't far away- just in the kitchen, she still felt the need to scream.

"Yeah, okay. I'm coming!" I shouted back just as loud.

Let's see how she likes that. I sighed, realising I was having an internal argument with my six year old sister and she didn't even know it.

Eyelet must've arrived, hence my sister squealing like a pig. My double date with Eyelet, and Declan and whoever he's decided to invite is tonight. I made a promise to Declan, that we'd go to Mumma Cuisina's. I had to bribe him into coming by buying his meal, of course.

Upon opening the front door to greet Eyelet, my jaw dropped as I took the time to appreciate her appearance.

Eyelet wore a short navy-blue dress with lace detailing. It looked expensive, to say the least. Her usual brown curly hair was straightened and tied into a high ponytail. She looked stunning, but I must admit, I thought she was the tiniest bit over dressed for the local diner. The restaurant leant more towards the smart-casual side, rather than formal. But when someone shows up looking that good, you can't complain.

"Woah, Eyelet, you look- wow" I stammered before embracing her in a hug.

I pulled away when I heard Paris giggling next to me at my awkwardness. I narrowed my eyes at the girl, which only made her laugh harder.

"Oh, thanks." Eyelet blushed.

"Rio, this is the second time you've been out with this girl," Paris said. "Is she your giiiiirlfriend?"

Eyelet wasn't the only one blushing now. Why did siblings have to be so freaking embarrassing?

As much as a liked Eyelet, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to take that step further and ask her to be my girlfriend. Well, actually, I knew I wanted her to be my girlfriend but I didn't know how to go about it. Being in a relationship was commitment I'm not familiar with. The idea of it seemed like a thrilling, yet daunting experience and I scared I couldn't handle it. Having my first relationship meant the potential of having my first heartbreak.

There were so many questions going through my mind. Was being my girlfriend something Eyelet wanted? Is two dates too soon to ask? How do ask her? What would Declan think?

The last one was the most worrisome. Thinking about what Declan's reaction would be if I was to tell him Eyelet was my girlfriend had me almost shitting myself. I aware that he isn't keen on her. I just don't know why. She's been nothing but nice.

"Are you ready to go?" She asked.

I nodded in response, turning back to look at Paris who was making the shape of a love heart with both her hands. She made kissing noises that were not only humiliating but irritating. I'm going to squash her.

"Yep, okay. Time to go." I ushered Eyelet out the door almost fanatically, so we wouldn't endure my little sister's torment. "I'm so sorry about her. She's such an annoying little brat."

Eyelet dismissed my apology with a small laugh. "It's okay, she's super cute."

I rolled my eyes. "Everyone seems to say that about her."

As we made our way down the driveway towards her car I said, "Hey, can you unlock your car?"

"Oh, I'm pretty sure I never locked it in the first place. Why do you-"

I decided to literally run off towards the car just so I could open up her own car door for her.

She laughed amusedly with a slightly surprised look on her face. "Has anyone ever told you that you're really corny?"
