Fanfic 6: Levi's POV

I'm planning on proposing to Cather. She seems to be more into the whole idea, now that we have a baby on the way. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, but I know that I want it to be amazing. Unforgettable. A day that will be remembered for years to come.

We've still yet to tell Cath's dad and Wren about the baby, but she wants to wait until the next time we see them in person to tell them. If she's up for it, today would be a good day to go visit.

"How would you feel about going to see your dad today?" I asked her over lunch.

"Sure. I mean I'm nervous to tell him, but we'll have to get it over with sooner than later" she responds.

"Levi, I'm just going to go run out to the grocery store. We need a few things and I'm not too busy right now" Cath says.

"Ok. Just don't be gone too long. I still want to be able to go see your dad later on"

"I know" she replies. She gives me a quick kiss on the cheek, and heads for the door.

"Wait" I tell her.

"I think you can do better than that"

She walks over to me and kisses me full on the lips.

"That better?" She asks.

"Much" I reply. After she leaves, I start racking my brains for some ideas on how I'm going to propose to her. She really deserves something special. She's the most beautiful, smart, amazing girl I've ever met, and she deserves to be happy.

As I pace up and down the living room, my eye catches on the bookshelf in the corner. There's a specific book sitting there, that is so simple, yet meaningful to us. Right then, I know that somehow, this book needs to be incorporated into the proposal.

Cath's POV

When I get to walmart, I grab the few groceries we need, and find myself moving towards the baby aisle. I'm still early on in my pregnancy and anything could still go wrong, but I can't help but look at the tiny little onesies. They're so cute, I just have to get one. Since we don't know the gender yet, I just get a white one with black words reading

"My mommy and daddy love me"

As I'm driving home, it's pouring rain. I can hardly see 5 feet in front of me. It's making me really nervous to be driving in this weather, so I make sure to pay extremely close attention to the roads.

As I see that the light I'm nearing is green, I don't stop or slow down. I continue straight, but notice something coming full speed from my side. Another car is sliding towards me, unable to slow down, let alone stop.

Oh no. Please no. The car is about to smash into the drivers seat, right where I'm sitting. The last thought I think before the car smashes into mine is please God let our baby be ok.

Levi's POV

Just as I'm starting to wonder where Cath's at, my cell phone rings.

"Hello" I pick up on the first ring.

"Is this Levi?" A man's voice asks. "Yeah. May I ask who's speaking" I answer.

"Yes this is Officer Richardson. I'm calling to inform you that your girlfriend Cather has just been in a serious car accident" the man says.

Shit. Shit shit. I knew she should have been home by now.

"Is she ok? What's going on? Is the baby ok?" I ask, frantically grabbing my car keys and sprinting out the front door.

"Her condition isn't too severe. She broke her arm, and her ankle, and has a pretty bad gash on the side of her head. The baby is perfectly fine. We've done almost every test possible, and were still working on more to make sure that there's no complications"

"Alright, thank you so much. I'm on my way" I say. It's really hard for me to concentrate on driving, while I have so many thoughts and worries going through my head. This is terrible. I know the officer said she will be fine, but I can't help but worry.

3 hours later

I'm with Cath at the hospital, and she's doing really good. Well, as good as you can with a broken arm and ankle.

"Are you positive that the baby is ok?" I ask the nurse.

"Yes. We've run every test and everything looks great" she responds, with a cheery voice.

After a few minutes of silence, she leaves the room.

"You scared me to death Cather. So many things could have gone wrong. You could have died!" I tell her, almost shouting.

"It wasn't that big of a deal Levi. I'll be fine. You're getting all worked up about nothing" she replies.

"You have no idea how much worse this could've been. We could've lost the baby. I could've lost you! Cather you mean the world to me, and if anything had happened to you, I would've died from depression. I'm just so sorry"

"Why are you sorry?" She questions me.

"Because I should've been there with you. I should've been there protecting you"

"You being there wouldn't have stopped the accident Levi. Theres nothing you could've done to change the fact that I was hurt"

I realize Cath is right and take a moment to think about this.

"I just love you so much sweetheart, and I can't bare to see you in any pain" I tell her.

"I know" she responds.

"And I love you too Levi. You don't have to worry about the baby anymore either. I'm getting the feeling that he or she is pretty tough"

We both laugh at this, and I just hold her, being careful of her bad arm. I'm so thankful that her and the baby are okay.

*thank you guys so much for reading this. It means so much to me. I'm not sure how often I'll be posting chapters, but I'll try to go as fast as I can. Let me know if you have any suggestions for any future chapters/ideas*
