Cath's POV

Levi and I were up all night taking care of Ruby. I swear she must've gotten up at least 20 times. This is going to be a lot harder than I thought it would. Today, Reagan wanted to help plan some wedding stuff with me, but I honestly have no idea where to start. Colours? Flowers? Invitations?

"So where do you want the wedding to be?" Reagan asks. I've never really thought about the place, but ever since I was a little girl, I've always wanted my wedding to be on a beach.

"Maybe Florida?" I ask.

"That's a great place. You can even take Ruby to Disney world! I'm sure she'll be old enough by then. When are you guys planning to have the wedding?" She asks. I have thought about the date, and I want it to be in a few months. I know it hardly gives us any time, but I want to do it before Ruby gets too old.

"A coupe months" I answer. I just got Ruby to settle down and take a nap, and not even ten minutes later, I hear her start crying through the baby monitor. Levi is in the shower, so I get up to go get Ruby. Reagan stops me.

"Let me get her. You need to stop getting up so much, and just rest for once"

"Are you sure?" I ask. I don't tell her this, but I'm a bit nervous. It's not that I don't trust Reagan, it's just that I'm being cautious. I think it's just the nerves that all first-time parents get.

"Don't worry Cath. I'll just go get her, and bring her right down to you." I nod, and with that, Reagan leaves the room. Over the monitor, I hear her talking to Ruby. Her voice is so kind and gentle, and I miss hearing it everyday.

"Shh. It's okay, auntie Reagan's got you" As soon as I hear Reagan picking her up, she goes quiet.

"Why can't you be this easy for mommy? You're a little stinker whenever mommy tries to calm you down." When Reagan gets back downstairs, Ruby is already drifting off to sleep again. Reagan must have some kind of magic touch. She's about to hand her to me, when she realizes she's fallen asleep.

"Should I take her back upstairs?" She whispers to me.

"Um, if you don't mind, could you just hold her for awhile? I think this is the fastest she's fallen asleep" Reagan's face lights up as if she'd just been offered a million dollars.

"Of course I can hold her! I mean we've only got a few days left, and who knows how long it'll be until I see her again" We continue talking about wedding plans for the next hour. Levi is home since he took a couple weeks off work to be with the baby, so he makes a big brunch. Afterwards, I show him the list I've made of wedding plans. Reagan and I were thinking a creamy white and teal colour theme, on a beach in Florida, with pale pink and white daffodils. Levi agrees with all of the plans, and he sits down to start writing a list of people to invite. In the end, it ends up being a pretty long list, with close to 300 guests.

"All this planning is making me super excited to start dress shopping" I say. Although, I know I won't be doing that anytime soon, as long as I have Ruby keeping me busy.

"Well I probably won't be able to make it down for that, seeing as I'll need time off for the wedding too" Reagan says, disappointed.

"I'll have Wren. And I'll skype you from the store when I go so that you can be a part in the final decision as well" I tell her. She laughs at this, and Ruby wakes up from her two hour nap. Wow, that girl can really sleep when she wants to.

"You better not forget" she says, smiling.

"How could I? You're my best friend Reagan, and I would never forget about you" I reply.

Levi's POV

Since I'm off for a few weeks, I figure I'd spend as much time with Ruby as possible.

Cath and Reagan are still talking, and Ruby is napping in her crib. I've just been watching her, because I can't get enough of how beautiful she is. I never imagined my life to go this way, but I wouldn't change a thing. I hear Ruby squirming in her crib, so I go pick her up before she starts crying.

"Hey baby girl" I say softly. Her eyes are perfect. They are a deep blue, with flecks of light blue. She stares up at me and her bottom lip starts to quiver.

"Shh" I say, trying to calm her because I know she's about to cry. Thankfully, she doesn't.

I rock her for a bit, enjoying the moment between us. Eventually, her eyes close, and she's fallen asleep again.

While I'm holding her, I start to drift off too, but am awaken by her wailing.

I hate knowing that something is bothering her, but I can't help her. Then, I smell the terrible smell coming from her diaper. It's a good thing Cath taught me how to do this before the baby was born. Now I'm an expert, and I change her pretty quickly. I don't think she'll be getting much more sleep, so I bring her downstairs. As I make my way down, Cath is coming up.

"Hey sweetheart, what's up?" I ask, noticing that Reagan isn't with her.

"Just coming to check on you guys" she answers.

"Where's Reagan?"

"She went out to the store to get some food for tonight" When Cath says this, I remember that we were in need of groceries last week, but those plans got blown off.

"I would've gone out instead. It's not Reagan's job. I mean, she's our guest, so I don't think we should be making her do our shopping" I reply.

"Don't worry Levi, she offered. And anyway, I wanted a little time to spend with my new family" she says, kissing Ruby on the forehead. We go downstairs and sit in the living room, and just relax.

"She is so beautiful" Cath says.

"Just like her mother" I reply. Cath smiles.

"You know, you've been doing really great at the whole "dad" thing, considering this is our first time" She tells me.

"Well I'm exhausted. It's like Ruby's number 1 goal in life is to keep me awake" I say, joking.

"I know. But seriously, you're an amazing dad Levi" she replies.

I lean over to kiss her on the cheek, but she turns her head, so that I get her lips instead.

"And you're an amazing mommy" I say.

Just then, Reagan walks through the front door. She is covered in water, and I can't help but laugh.

"What happened to you?" Cath asks.

"Well, I thought since it was looking like a nice day, I'd walk to the store. It really isn't that far, and the walk there was nice. When I left the store, it started raining. It was just sprinkling, so I didn't want to bug you guys to come pick me up. I thought I'd make it home fine, but that's clearly not the case. You know how there are still huge puddles by the curbs?" She asks.

Me and Cath both nod.

"Well, I was almost home, when one car, driving way past the speed limit decided it would be a good idea to drench me. The water from the curb shot at me like a tidal wave, and the idiot didn't even look at me"

Cath and I burst out laughing, and this makes Reagan laugh too.

"Come on. I'll get you cleaned up" Cath tells her. Reagan drops the bags, and follows her upstairs. With all of us here together, it kinda feels like the dorm again. Only, a much more grown up version, that includes Ruby, a house, and jobs. When did life get so complicating? Actually, a better question would be; when did life get so rewarding? I've got the love of my life, and the daughter of my dreams, that I get to look forward to waking up with every morning. I've got everything I could ever want, and I wouldn't ask for anything more.
