Cath's POV

The next morning

I wake up in Levi's arms. He looks at me, smiling. We're finally engaged and it couldn't feel better. I've never felt more loved in my life. My ring is really simple, yet gorgeous, and I can't take my eyes off of it. I can't believe Levi picked it out himself. He said he saw it and he knew I would love it. Just then, he wakes up, and grins at me.

"Morning sweetheart. What's on the schedule for today?" he asks.

"Did you seriously forget what we have planned for today?" I ask in response. "I have another ultrasound today! We get to find out the gender of the baby!"

"Oh yeah! Well, in that case, we can go shopping for the baby's room. I've got tons of ideas. I was thinking an underwater theme if it's a boy, and a flowery garden type theme if it's a girl" he says, sounding really excited.

"well, I've got a few ideas too, but I'm going to take a shower. You should probably get ready too, because the appointments in an hour" I tell him. I kiss his cheek and pick out my outfit for the day. I can still fit into my regular clothes, but I'll be needing to go shopping within the next couple weeks for new maternity stuff. I'm starting to get somewhat of a belly and I don't want to wait until the last minute.

After my shower and breakfast, me and Levi drive to the doctors office. I've thought a lot about whether or not I wanted to know the gender, and I decided I do want to know. I feel like the whole pregnancy will seem more real, once I know. Also, since it's our first one, I want to be able to design a room specific to the gender.

"So what do you want it to be?" Levi asks me.

"Well honestly, I'll be fine with either, but ever since I found out, I've had this gut feeling that it's a boy. I don't know why, but I guess we'll find out for sure today" I reply.

At the doctor's office

I'm a bit nervous, but not as much as my first ultrasound. I know everything will be fine, but I'm getting pretty anxious. As I try distracting myself from thoughts about the baby, I hear the nurse call us in. I follow Levi, and have a seat in the chair. Since I've already done this, I know what to expect.

"Alright, so you guys want to know the gender?" She asks, after a few minutes of looking at the baby.

"Yeah, we do" Levi says for both of us. He reaches for my hand, and I can tell he's nervous.

"Cather, you're having a girl! Congratulations!" The nurse exclaims.

I look at Levi and he looks just as happy as he did during the first ultrasound. I didn't care what the gender was, but I'm actually excited to have a girl. I can buy her cute little bows and tutus!

"Well I have a feeling this little girl is going to be very spoiled" I tell Levi.

"She definitely will" he replies, placing his hands over my stomach. I kiss him, and he kisses my belly.

"I guess we should get going, and pick out some girly baby furniture" he says, putting emphasis on the word girly. I love how happy he is, whenever things happen regarding the baby. He's going to be an amazing father. I can already tell.

When we get to the store, I'm overwhelmed by the huge selection of cribs. How are we ever going to decide on just one? If I knew it would be this hard, I would have picked out a few favourites online first, just to have an idea on what I wanted.

"So we're going with the garden type theme?" Levi asks.

"well I was kind of thinking a princess theme, but we could always include both. We could do a princess garden type thing, or something along the lines of that" I suggest.

"Sounds good. So I guess we'll look for some pink or purple furniture then" he replies.

We look around at all of the cribs and change tables. There were a couple that I liked, but there was just one that stood out to me. It was a matching set (crib and change table) and they were a simple pale pink color. They didn't have much designs, but I have a feeling that the room will have enough decorations.

"How about these two?" I ask, hoping Levi will like them. He looks over to where I'm at, and his whole face lights up.

"Cather, they're beautiful! They are seriously perfect. I don't think we even need to look at any others" he says.

"Okay I guess we'll get these. Then we can go and pick out some other smaller decorations. Oh, I almost forgot! We have to paint it too" I say, excited.

"Well actually, I was kind of hoping to decorate it on my own. This way it'll be a surprise for you. I mean, you could help if you wanted, but I'd like to finish it by myself. There are a few things I'd rather you wait to see" he responds.

"Um sure. But I do want to help you Mr. full of surprises" I say, joking around.

"I guess you could say I've got a few tricks up my sleeve" He says, grabbing me around my waist. He kisses me on the lips, not even giving me a chance to back away, even if I wanted to.

"Levi stop!" I break away, laughing.

"We're in the middle of a store, and there are people all around us. I'm pretty sure they dont want to see this"

"Yeah, yeah. Let's go pay for our baby girl's new furniture" He responds. He takes my hand and leads me to the checkout, so we can get some assistance.                                                                           After we've paid for the crib and change table, we load the boxes into the back of Levi's truck, and head home.

Later that night, after we've got the furniture set up, Levi and I sit down in the living room to watch a movie.

"I think we did pretty good today" Levi says. I nod in response.

"We found out we're having a baby girl, and bought her new furniture. I'd say we're on the right track"

"So... name ideas?" I ask. We've already talked about this, but I have a feeling Levi's changed his mind.

"Well, I did like Sofia Marie, but it doesn't really feel right. I want to choose a name that I know will be perfect" he tells me.

"Yeah well, I've actually thought about it a bit and I do like Marie for a middle name. I'm just not sure for a first name yet" I reply. We both sit there for a few minutes until out of nowhere, Levi looks at me like he's just won the lottery.

"Ruby!" he shouts.

"The baby's name has to be Ruby. It just sounds so perfect when I say it"

"Levi it's amazing" I reply.

"I guess this little one's name will be Ruby Marie" he says, kissing me.

"It's beautiful" I say. Ruby Marie. It sounds wonderful. Like no other name could ever be better. I know that it's perfect, and I'm not sure how I'll be able to wait 4 and a half more months to meet our little girl.
