13 years later...

Emerald's POV

"Ang init talaga dito sa Pilipinas! Why did I come back in the first place?" I sighed again and I'm guessing that it was for the 5th time already, I lost count.

"Okay, shall I go shopping already?.." I glance at my wrist watch. It's already noon, I check my phone and there are already messages from lolo's P.A.

Your grandfather would like to meet you in his office as soon as the airplane you're in lands.

Napailing na lang ako with his formality. I didn't bother replying. Ano na naman kaya ang gusto ng lolo ko? My blood boils for a minute after some memories flashed back. After all he had done to me and Christian, ang lakas ng loob niya makipag meet sak--

Napatigil ako sandali, remembering Christian. It's been 13 years since I last saw him in the burial. In those past years, we had no contact. As in wala. I was worried at first but my mom reassured me that he's fine or he will be.

From time to time nag po-pop parin siya sa isip ko. I'm not really expecting for everything to be the same as it was before. Like duh, sinong hindi magbabago in those years?

But I must admit, I miss him.

Sumakay na ako sa kotse na ipinadala para sunduin ako. Dumiretso na kami sa office ng lolo ko. Mahaba ang byahe kaya nakaidlip ako sandali.

"What can I do to make him straight?!" Pang ilang beses na ni lolo sinasabi yan while sitting in his swivel chair. Pinoproblema na niya ang gender ni Christian because Christian will be the next heir of Alvarez Inc.

"What's wrong? He can do it kahit gay siya. What's the difference?" Nakapatong ang baba ko sa kamay ko while looking at every single corner of lolo's office.

"THERE'S A HUGE DIFFERENCE! He can't clearly run a company while being gay!" I don't care anymore. I want to go home now and soak my body in my bath tub with hot water in it. Then an idea pop in my head.

"Why don't you let him marry a girl? Who knows baka mainlove siya." I chuckled because of my idea. Of course Lolo won't take this seriou--"That's a great idea!" --sly

"I kno-- What?!" I think I've done the worst thing to Christian. Napangiti ang lolo ko with my silly idea.

"Oh c'mon lolo, who will be the girl then? Seriously? How can you find a girl to marry a gay? That's way too much hassle." Sinubukan kong baguhin ang iniisip ng lolo ko but when I thought everything would go smoothly, I thought wrong. I just dug another grave for myself and Christian.

"You're right, you shall be the girl then." Napantig ang tenga ko sa narinig ko. He's clearly desperate!

"What?! Seriously Lolo, you're going crazy! We're cousi--" He cutted me off.
"--Step cousins at isa pa you're not an Alvarez. You still have your father's surname with you." His mouth formed a smirk.

"You're crazy.." I give up. There's no use negotiating with him. Sarado na ang isip niya and he will grab every single possible chances just to make his grandson straight again.

Palabas na ako ng may pahabol na sinabi si lolo.

"You will meet Christian later for dinner. My personal assistant will text you about the place and what time."

"He won't follow you after what you've done in the past." I glared at him.

"Oh, yes he will especially if you'll be the one who he will meet." Another smirk formed in his face.

Lumabas na ako ng tuluyan sa office ng matandang 'yon and went straight to my condo.

Honestly, I don't want to meet him after what I've done. I don't know how he will react. Napapikit na lang ako ng madiin sa stress.

"Ah.. This is exactly the best place on earth! A nice and hot bath tub." Nakapikit kong sabi habang nag rerelax. For a minute I forgot about what happened earlier.

"Ano na ang gagawin ko?" I sighed again and again. Na-text na sakin ng P.A ni lolo ang place at ang oras.

Regaliano Italian Restaurant.
7:00 pm

I took a glance at the wall clock inside my bathroom. Already 6 huh? I gotta get out of the bath already.

Tumayo na ako at nagpunas ng katawan. Pumunta na ako sa walk in closet ko, I need to be pretty. Mamaya mas maganda pa siya kesa sakin.

"Nag wi-wig na kaya siya? Or maybe pinahaba na niya ang buhok niya. I wonder if he will wear a dress?" Napailing na lang ako at namili na rin ng dress.

After a while nakapili na ako. Isang semi-casual dress ang napili ko. Strapless ang above the knee length, color white with red flowers sa may laylayan ng dress. I wore a color red 3 inches heels.

Dahil natural ang big curls ng buhok ko, I didn't bother curling it. Nag blower lang ako then put my hair into waterfalls style. My hair is reaching the half of my back.

Nag powder lang ako ng onti then grab my lip tint to put some on my cheeks and lips. I just need a little bit mascara and ready to go na ako.

"..I like it." I mumbled to myself. I flashed a smile in the mirror at lumabas na. Tinignan ko yung wrist watch ko and it's exactly 6:38. Malapit lang yung restaurant kaya I'm positive na hindi ako male-late.

"For heaven's sake! Bakit ang traffic?! 6:55 na!" I know Christian, ayaw niya ng pinaghihintay siya.

The traffic lasted for another 15 minutes. It's already 7:10 pm! I'm so late!

I rushed inside the restaurant and went to the cashier.

"Uhm, Excuse me, where is the table of Alvarez's reservation?" Before the lady answer, a man behind me spoke.

"..Emerald?"

I froze as my heart skipped a beat.
