Chapter 6.

“Livvie!” I called from the bottom of the stairs so I didn’t have to go up and get her, I heard her walking out of her room and went back out to the back porch. We were having dinner out here as usual, I helped Violet bring the food out then sat down in my normal seat next to Livvie. I loved sitting out here, it was like something out of a house magazine. Violet had always been like that, she paid attention to detail, like the way she had hung fairy lights over the porch and had flowers everywhere. Literally everywhere.

“What is it?” Livvie asked as she walked out and took her seat next to me, I giggled as she looked at the food Violet had set out with a disgusted expression, Violet looked up at her and scowled

“Its pasta!” she replied raising her hands up in exasperation, we all looked down at the large dish in the middle of the table.

“That is very strange looking pasta” Livvie replied squinting her eyes to look closely, Violet picked up the dish quickly

“Ok!” she said “you don’t need to examine it, I’ll just order pizza” she walked back in to the kitchen and I stifled a giggle while Livvie smiled widely

“what?” I asked after a few moments of her looking at me strangely

“nothing” she shrugged, I raised my eyebrows about to protest and demand her to tell me what she was looking at when my phone vibrated in my pocket, I pulled it out, it was Lily, once again I rolled my eyes at her text. She had seen Nate the other day and kept texting me details. I have to say they weren’t anything fascinating, mainly her analysing the way he said ‘hey’ to her, seriously how many ways can you interpret that? I asked myself shaking my head with a smile, something needed to be done about these two.

“I want to know what is going on between you and Chase, and don’t dare lie to me or I will hunt you down, shave your head, poke your eyes out with-”

“ok, I get it!” I interrupted her sudden outburst, she smiled and rested her head on her hands

“so...” she said gesturing for me to explain

“nothing” I replied shrugging, taking a sip of my drink, she punched me lightly in the arm almost making me pour my drink over myself

“Livvie!”

“well answer properly!” I rolled my eyes at her again

“we are just friends” I said elongating every word

“fine” she said leaning back and folding her arms, she tried to avoid eye contact but soon I gained her attention and she smiled. I smiled back gratefully, off the hook until next time.

“ok pizza is ordered” Violet said walking on to the porch and flopping down on her seat,  I smiled, I was suddenly starving, anything was better than Violet’s cooking, she would always attempt to make fancy meals which literally never went to plan. I remember when she tried to make some French meal this one time, I thought it might be good seen as she was following an exact recipe, but whatever it was she made it certainly didn’t look like the picture.

“so when’s it going to get here?” asked Livvie, me and Violet laughed at her, Livvie was the smallest girl in her class, she was so thin, in high school she would be the type of girl that everybody hates, not because of her personality but due to the fact that she can eat as much food as she wants, whatever food she wants and still not put on any weight. I guess I was the same though, we probably got it off mum.  “I’m serious, I’m starving” Livvie continued her moaning until we got our food 20 minutes later. After dinner I grabbed one of the old books from the living room and wandered upstairs, it was hot tonight so I went and opened my windows wide, letting in as much air as possible. I sat in bed pushing the sheets off me and opened to the first page.
