Chapter 12.

“Wait!”  I called as I ran down the beach after him, he stopped and slowly turned around wearing the biggest smirk I had ever seen

“I am too good” he said bursting in to laughter, I looked at him with my eyebrows raised and waited for him to stop, his laughter continued and I wrapped my arms around myself. I hadn’t exactly come prepared, I mean it wasn’t as if I had planned running out of the house in a mad dash after a jerk. It was getting dark and it was colder than before, I cursed myself and Chase for making me come out here without a jacket.

“Are you done?” I asked angrily “some of us are freezing” he finally looked up and smiled at me, not his usual smirk but a real smile. If only he always looked that that instead of turning in to an arrogant player.

“Sorry” he said still smiling, he closed the distance between us and held out his hoodie, I hesitated but took it gratefully

“Thanks” I replied, he could be quite a gentleman when he wanted to be, which recently wasn’t very often “so what’s the surprise then? Or did you just say that to get me out here?”

“No there is actually a surprise” he replied taking my hand and walking me back over to his car which was parked by the house “if you hadn’t of slammed the door in my face then it would have been even better”

“You were being a jerk!” I said simply pulling his jacket around me tighter

“Fair enough, anyway get in the car we have to drive there”

“So it’s a place, is it like where we went last time?” I asked thinking back to the view at the cliff, we hadn’t been back there since but he had said that day that there were other places he wanted us to go

“Not really” he replied vaguely, I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh, this was going to be a long journey.

*******

“Are we there yet?” I asked childishly looking out the window at our surroundings, we had only been driving for five minutes and I could still see the beach clearly

“It’s just round the corner” Chase replied rolling his eyes “you are the most impatient person I have ever met” I laughed and looked over at him, he had a smile on his face so I knew he was still in a good mood, I really didn’t want to be stuck here with annoying Chase.

“If it’s only five minutes away then why are we driving?”

“It’s just quicker, plus I thought we go somewhere else after” he answered turning down another road

“And how do I know you’re not planning on kidnapping me, or worse” I asked jokingly looking over at him

“You got in the car didn’t you?” he replied after laughing, I shrugged and smiled as I sat back in my seat. I did trust Chase, it’s not like I’d even known him that long but I would trust him with my life, as irritating and observant as he is he was a part of my life now. “Were here” he said as he pulled up outside a rather big looking building, he got out of the car quickly and came round to my side before I even had time to undo my seatbelt

“You’re quite excited about this then?” I asked him as he pulled me out of the car almost pulling my arm out of its socket

“just hurry up” he said though I could still see the smile on his face through the dark, we approached the building and I looked up, searching for a sign of some sort, there were no other cars here and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion
