Chapter 16.

“I’m home!” I called happily as I shut the front door and walked over to the lounge area

“Hi sweetie” Violet greeted as I flopped down on the couch opposite her “did you have a nice time?” she asked smiling excitedly

“Yeah it was great” I smiled with her sighing heavily

“So?” she continued to ask, eyebrows raised

“What?” she groaned and sat up straight leaning forward

“What’s going on? Are you two together? I was right this morning!” I laughed at her excitement and then rolled my eyes

“You sound exactly like Lily” I answered shaking my head and getting up to go to the kitchen

“Hey!” she called after me “I need answers!” I laughed as she chased me in to the kitchen

“What answers?” I asked playing dumb, I knew as soon as I told her about the kiss and then today Chase asking me to be his girlfriend she would probably pass out from pure joy and excitement. She looked at me and frowned

“you know what I am talking about!” she whined still squealing like a teenage girl, she hoisted herself up to sit on one of the kitchen counters and then looked at me eagerly

“Ok, what do you want to know?” I asked reluctantly, filling a glass of water and taking a sip

“Are you together?” I looked away from her for fear I would blush and embarrass myself, she was still my aunt after all, I took a slow slip of my drink and could almost feel her frustration as I took a long time with my answer, I heard her actually squeal slightly before I answered. I turned back to her and nodded my head slowly, I watched actually quite frightened as her eyes widened and she jumped off the counter quickly before running in to me, I managed to put down my water just in time as she enveloped me in a tight hug

“Finally!” she squealed, pulling me even tighter, I would of wrapped my arms around her too if it wasn’t for the fact that were squished tightly by my sides “I knew you liked each other, I just knew it!” she finally pulled back and I let out a big breath, finally able to breathe properly again

“What do you mean?” I asked laughing; she rolled her eyes and stopped jumping up and down long enough to look at me

“Summer” she said looking at me like I was a crazy person “surely you must see the way he looks at you?” I frowned at her, what did she mean? Most of the time me and Chase just argued, he could be nice a lot of the time but others I felt like hitting him over the head with his surf board, either that or kissing him. Wow we had a weird relationship “you don’t do you?” she asked again, I shook my head and raised my eyebrows at her “why do you think me and Kara wanted to get you two together so much?”

“we just thought you were practicing your matchmaking skills” I answered with a shrug, the first time I met Chase he wasn’t exactly the nicest of guys, ok he may of sort of saved my life but that didn’t give him an excuse to act like a conceited jerk

“That boy would do anything for you” Violet said shaking her head “even the other night when he was planning to take you to the dance studio, I’ve never seen him so determined with something”

I smiled at the thought of that, Chase never really did give up, even after all my mood swings, all my baggage, he still stuck around. I hadn’t even thought about having a boyfriend until he came along, especially not at a time when I didn’t even want to get up in the morning. This summer was going to be miserable and lonely, me and Livvie were spending it away from our parents for the first time, and they weren’t just on vacation or working. They were gone. We were spending our summer in a strange place, in a house I hadn’t been in since I was 12 years old. And yet now, it looked like it could be an amazing summer, I had new friends, and most of all I had Chase. He could make me smile when I least wanted to, make me tell him things I never would of told anyone, and I absolutely loved it.
