Chapter 10.

Chapter 10.

 “well you were right as always” I said, I saw the smirk rise on his face and rolled my eyes

“of course, what did Violet say was happening?”

“Livvie is staying at her friends and she is going to stay at the Lewis’ until it passes which right now looks like morning” I replied biting on my lip worriedly “she said to ring your parents, she doesn’t think it’s safe for you to drive”

“I’ll call my mum now” I nodded and went to grab a few blankets as it had turned quite cold even in the house, I walked upstairs to the cupboard in the bathroom and grabbed some, just as I shut the door the lights in the hall flickered then went out. I jumped and let out a scream as I was left in darkness. I hurried back to the bathroom to get some candles and try to find a torch

“Summer!” Chase called from downstairs, I called back as I searched for any source of light

“are you alright?” he said “why did you scream?”

“it was just the lights, it made me jump” by now he had entered the bathroom and was fiddling with his phone

“What are you doing?” I asked looking up from my search to see him glaring at his phone

“No signal” he said shoving it angrily in his pocket

“Have you tried the landline?” I asked already knowing he would of, he looked at me and rolled his eyes

“Sometimes I wonder whether there is something in there at all” he said knocking on my head gently, I swatted his hand away and frowned at him

“will you shut up and just help me find a torch?” the room was completely dark now, the clouds outside had made it hard to even see Chase who was right in front of me

“ok, I’ll look and you light the candles” I did as I was told and found the lighter, I lit the candles and wrapped one of the blankets around me, I was freezing, I shuddered at the thought of how cold it must be outside.

“You’re not going to try and go home are you?” I asked him as I looked out the window again, now I actually realised how bad it was I agreed with Violet, it wouldn’t be safe for him to try and drive

“Why? Would you miss me?” he replied giving me a wink, I rolled my eyes but giggled slightly, I admit Chase was extremely arrogant but it suited him, it was extremely annoying but sort of entertaining at the same time

“I just think it’s not safe” I finally said pointing to the weather outside, plus I would be way too scared to be here on my own I thought but didn’t say out loud, he would never stop using it against me

“Do you want me to stay?” he said clearly enjoying making me squirm

“Well I don’t really want you to go out and die so I suppose I will have to” I said with a dramatic sigh, he laughed a little then turned back to looking through the shelves

“In that case then, looks like you’re stuck with me” he smirked and I groaned internally, how long do these storms last?

“Found it!” Chase said holding up a torch with a big grin on his face, I laughed at his excitement

“You should be a superhero” I said taking it out of his hands and switching it on, I walked in to my room with him trailing behind me and grabbed a hoodie

“Are you cold?” he asked looking at me shaking

“No I’m just shaking like this because it’s fun” I replied rolling my eyes, he smirked and grabbed another blanket wrapping it round me “aren’t you?” I said looking down at his shorts and thin hoodie
