"BunTots, may try-out mamaya." Nicole said as she sat on the vacant seat beside Tots at the library.
"Oh, tapos?" Tots said dryly as she continues to read the book in front of her.
"Tapos wal-wal tayo after." Nicole said
"Game! Anong oras?" Tots said with fake enthusiasm
Nicole lightly hit her in the back of her head. "Mag-try out ka na kasi baliw."
"Ayoko." Tots replied as she rubs the part Nicole hit her. "Mas mahihripan ako mag-aral ng ganyan. Hirap na nga ako mag-aral maglalaro pa ako."
"Tutulungan naman kita e." Nicole said and closes the book Tots is reading to get her to face her. "Promise. Tutulungan kita."
"Niks, you're in fourth year already. Pagka-graduate mo ano na. Nga-nga ako." Tots reason out and opened her book again only for Nicole to close it again, leaving her hand on top of it.
"I'm sure meron dyan na willing tumulong sa'yo." Nicole said
"Hanggang kelan aber? May maintaining grade kaya kayo." Tots said and swat the hand covering her book.
Defeated, Nicole slumps on the chair as she pouts. Sad she can't convince her friend to join their team. But she can't give up like that easily, knowing Tots has a capability to make their team stronger.
"Don't do that." Tots said making Nicole look at her. Tots wears a frown on her face as she looks at her. "Nagpapaawa effect ka."
"Hindi kaya. Unless effective." Nicole said slyly and continues to pout. "Kahit try-out ka lang tapos saka mo pag-isipan kung tutuloy ka o hindi." Nicole added as she places a hand on her shoulder.
Tots sighs, Nicole had been convincing her ever since she found out she passed the entrance exam. Feeling guilty for Nicole's efforts, shee hesitantly agrees which earned a loud cheer from the latter making everyone in the room look at her.
"Gaqo ka, nasa library tayo." Tots scolded Nicole and the latter just flashed a peace sign at her.
"Sorry, masyadong natuwa." Nicole said grinning at her. "Mamaya ah. Sa Gym saktong 5pm. Promise?"
"Promise." Tots said and made a pinky swear with Nicole. "So pwede na akong mag-aral ulit?"
Nicole nods and smiles at her. As she watches her friend study, her mind is in hyper mode. She needs to think ahead, she needs a plan on how to make Tots stay now she had agreed for a try-out.
Maka-ka-pag final four kami this year. Nicole told herself in a mixture of a promise and a definite statement.

Tots' hurriedly runs to the gym. She had forgotten that she promised to try-out getting lost track of the time.
Looking at her watch it's already 5:10pm.
Tots as soon as she entered the gym, she stops by the gym door to catch her breath. Looking ahead, she saw the try-outs had started but Nicole isn't at sight.
She then decided to walk in the sidelines as she searches for Nicole only for a certain person caught her attention. A lady wearing jersey 10.
It seemed like the lady slowed down before her eyes as she jumps to make a spike at a set given to her.
