I'm at the football rally with my friends, and some Cheer leaders sing, ♪ We're the Geckos. We've got class
We're going to climb right up your glass. ♪

The Mascot cheers, "Go Geckos!" And sticks to the glass shield.

I can hear Milo from the sidelines, "I never understood why people need a rally to get peppy. Does that make you feel peppier?"

The Mascot falls out of his costume.

Melissa smirks, "Yeah. Kind of does."

Bradley walks over to Melissa, "Oh hey Melissa. Mind if I join you?"

Melissa doesn't seem to mind, "Sure Bradley, take a seat."

Bradley notices Milo, and does some weird flinchy thing, "oo ch eh ul bla em! Hello, Milo."

Milo waves at him, "Hi, Bradley."

Bradley discreetly steps away.

"Nolan Mitchell, Zack and I's coach coughs to get our attention, "Alright, listen up Geckos. *Sigh* I'm not going to lie to you. We're going to loose today, and we're going to loose hard. Middletown Middle School has intentionally failed all it's best eighth grade players for six years straight now, so we're basically playing against a group of angry adults. We'll be lucky if we get out of there with all our limbs. But that's no reason to get out there and give it the old middle school try."

I roll my eyes. I can take anything.

Zack is hesitant, "It isn't?"

Nolan Mitchell goes on, "If you need me, I'll be in my office, starring into space. Oh yeah, and in the meantime, let's enjoy some peppy songs from our Jefferson County Middle School defunded budget band."

The group of students start playing a cute little tune.

Milo smiles, "Now that makes me feel peppy." He starts tapping with his feet.

I walk over to the far side of the bleachers to help any kids that might get hurt.

Melissa instructs Milo, "No Milo. Don't tap. Remember what happened last time."

Milo is confused, "What happened last time?"

Right when he asked that, the bleachers collapse and everyone falls on the band.

"Oh, now I remember." I hear him say as I help some kids up.

Mable complains, "Dude, you're on my digeridoo."

When I walk back over to Milo and Melissa, Zack stands near them as well.

We leave the Gym, and start walking to the bus stop.

"You guys are coming, right? It is my first game as part of the team." Zack says.

Milo gasps, "Oh my Gecko, I would love too. I haven't been in years."

Melissa chuckles, "Last time he came there was a lama stampede."

Zack raises his eyebrows, "Lama stampede?"

"You know they can spit fifty feet." Melissa tells us.

"The more you know!" I sing.

Milo admits, "I haven't been to a game since. I do get nice thank you notes from the team though. You know for staying away."

The thank you notes fly away in the wind and cause sounds of disaster.

"Milo and I have had a 'not football Friday' tradition for years. Tia's on the team, so it's normally just Milo and I unless Tia is sick." Melissa explains.
