"Kaleb!! Wake up!"A voice exclaimed. I looked around and found myself in a strange room. I was lying on a soft, white bed and I felt something cool wrapped around my head.
"Good, you're awake. Are you okay?" the voice continued. I squinted my eyes and saw Sophie standing beside the bed. When I got up and put my glasses on, my head started to hurt.
"Why did you run away from me?" I questioned.
"I.. I... Don't know but.. " she said
"But .. nothing! You're only keeping secrets from me!" I shouted.
"Kaleb ... I-I-I can't tell you," she sobbed.
"I really wish I could but.. "
"Sophie just leave me alone! Friends tell each other secrets and don't run away from each other. Now go away!!" I shouted. Sophie cried and ran away.
"What have I done?" I muttered, "She's my best friend." then the bell rang. For the whole day I didn't know where Sophie was but I was to angry to ask where she were.
~After school ~
My mother arrived to pick me and my brother Ethan up.
"How was school today, Kaleb?" She asked.
"It was fine mom," I replied with a fake smile.
It was the first day of school, I lost my best friend and I was bruised. Luckily, they took off the cloth from my head so my parents couldn't see I was damaged.
After mom drove for a half and hour I went home, took a bath, and grabbed my favorite white T-shirt and black pants then went downstairs to eat dinner. Mom made her famous chicken soup which was very tasty.
After eating, I jumped in my bed and closed my eyes to fall asleep but I constantly kept on turning from one side to another. I couldn't sleep because I kept thinking about how I shouted at Sophie . I went by her house which was a few houses to mines to apologize. After walking for a couple of minutes, I rang the doorbell. Instantly Sophie's mother answered the door.
"Oh Kaleb it's so nice to see you," she kindly greeted me.
"Please, come in. Are you here to see Sophie?" I entered and nodded.
"She's not here right now." I looked at her with a confused face and asked, "Where is she? I may ask. I got something very important to tell her."
"She's in the hospital Kaleb. Didn't she tell you?" I looked at her as if I had just seen a ghost.
"WHAT!! HOSPITAL??" I shouted
