It was early Saturday morning, I kept turning on side to another because I had nightmares. I couldn't sleep so I texted my friends, who were all in a group chat.
Kaleb: Guys wake up!!
Sara: Yo, what up?
Kaleb: What you doing up so late?
Sara: I couldn't sleep.
Kaleb: Same, I had a nightmare
Jefferson: Hey guys, what up?
Kaleb: I couldn't sleep. Anyways guys do you wanna hang out today?
Kendra: Heyy guys! Sure Kaleb.
Melanie: Sup, people
Kaleb: Is that everyone. Okay. You guys, do you wanna hang tomorrow at the mall?
Sara: Of course
Jefferson: yep
Kendra: Sure
Melanie: Okay
Kaleb: Today at 10am. Bye guys.
Then I went to write my stories and gone to sleep.
9:40am
"Ring-ring!"
My alarm clock went. I hopped out of bed and took a shower. After I brushed my teeth, brush my hair and put on my gray sweater. I went downstairs to make breakfast. Cereal and milk. Just like old times.
While I ate, I got my laptop out and started playing Minecraft for a while.
"Hey Kaleb." My mom said "Are you ready to go?"
"Yep." I replied
"Let's go"
Then I headed to the food place at mall and met Kendra sitting eating, which seems to be her breakfast. I snook up behind her and she jumped.
"Oh my gosh! Kaleb. Don't do that."
"Sorry." I chuckled. "Did I ruin your outfit?"
"Yeah, but its fine. It's just a little stain."
I noticed she had a little stain beside her lips, being her good friend, I wiped it with my handkerchief. Suddenly, it felt like everything was in slow motion. I couldn't hear anything at this moment. I slowly moved closer to her to kiss her when suddenly I saw my friends standing beside us, giggling.
"Hello, guys." They said snapping at us.
"Oh- sorry guys. I.. I just. Let's go." I stuttered.
Then they followed, we went shopping for a while, after we sat at an open area in the mall and started talking. When I saw Alexis in the mall.
"Hey guys. Look Alexis." I pointed "I wonder what she's doing here."
"To shop. Duhh." Melanie sighed
"We should talk to her." Jeff said
"No!" We all shouted.
"Guys, we should. Although she's mean and stuff. Come to think of it, what if she's actually nice."Kendra said.
Then they all bursted out laughing.
"Wait you're serious." Sara laughed.
"Yes, I am. Guys if you don't want to talk to her it's fine. I'll go by myself."
"Ite fine, I'll come and you all are coming to." I said.
"Haha, good luck. Wait! Me too?"
Sara said."Fine we'll come but if you guys fail. I'll laugh." Then we all walked to her.
"Hey Alexis." Kendra waved politely.
"What do you want?" Alexis said with a frown.
"Me and my-" I turned around and my friends were no where.
"I would like to invite you to hang with me."
"Sure" she said. "Sikeee. Why would I come with you when I got Travis to hang with."
"Go away, werido!" Travis shouted.
"Alexis, I know you're mean and I know why you're so mean." I continued.
"Who told you! " she shouted.
"Well, one day I saw you're aunt. She tapped me on my shoulders and asked if I'm from you're school. I replied yes then she told me. She said that you're her niece and that she wants you to have a good life. She's sorry that you didn't get the childhood you wanted. Your aunt told me the whole story Alexis, I didn't know that happened to you. I am also sorry I was mean to you."
Alexis started sobbing, "No, I'm sorry. I felt so alone, I forgot about others."
"What the frick. You're such an idiot. You let her-" Travis said when I stopped him.
"Travis, get a life! You only cause problems. You're mean and heartless!" I said
"Excuse me, who was talking to you. Mind your god damn business."
"Don't talk to our friend like that you little -----" Sara said when Melanie covered her mouth.
"Shh Sara" Jeff said which made Alexis laugh.
"Whatever, I'm leaving!" Travis said then left.
"Whatever no one gives a sh-" Sara shout then Melanie covers her mouth.
"You have amazing friends, Kendra." Alexis chuckled.
"Yes, I do and you're part of that."
"Really, that's cool" she said, giving me a high five. From that moment she changed but it all started with baby steps.
