~ Continuation ~
"Why is she in the hospital?" I asked Sophie's mother, Mrs. Summers.
"Sophie has A.L.S ." She responded holding back her tears. I didn't know what was A.L.S at the time but looking at her facial expression, I could tell it was a very serious problem.
"Can I visit Sophie at the hospital?"I asked.
"Yes, of course but I better confirm your mother." Mrs. Summers declared, then she got her phone and called my mother.
After she finish talking to my mom we both went to the car to see Sophie.
~ At the hospital ~
9:15pm
Sophie's room
Mrs. Summers and I entered Sophie's room when suddenly, a nurse came up to her and went outside to talk, while I went to see Sophie.
"Sophie!!" I exclaimed.
"Oh, hi Kaleb. How are you?" She said in a calm tone.
".. Me ? How are you Sophie?"
"Why didn't you tell me?" I asked
"Well, I wanted to but you pushed me away and I was afraid to. I thought you wouldn't care about me anymore." She sighed.
I looked at her for a second and said, "Sophie, I care. I am your best friend and no matter what I'll always be here to help you." I told her.
"Kaleb, you're the best but I'm scared. I might die," Sophie sobbed then I gave her a kiss on her forehead.
"Why did you do that?" She questioned.
"Sophie, Please don't go. I know this may not be the right time to say this but ever since I met you I had crush on you." I whispered.
"Kaleb, I had a crush on you as well and if I die tomorrow I want you to remember that.. I- I love you." She smiled.
And from that day we became a couple but she became weaker and weaker. Sophie came in and out of the hospital.
One day, a doctor called Sophie's mother to conform her that Sophie would have to stay in the hospital a few weeks due to the problem. I would visit her at the hospital from school and tell her about my day. She always made me smile and I always made her laugh. I don't want her to leave. Not ever.
