"Bye Dad!" I waved and walked into school. The school was a tall, yellow and black building and looked as if someone had just painted it. I was looking around the school in search of my friends like a lost puppy looking for it's owner, when someone tapped my shoulder.
"ELLLOOO!!" A voice shouted behind me and I knew for sure it was my best friend, Sophie. Recognizing her voice, I turned around and hugged her.
"Kaleb!! Long time no see. How was your summer?" she smiled.
"It was great. I went to this country called ... uh..Japan.
It was fun. How 'bout yours?" I replied.
"Mines... was ..well." Suddenly the bell rang.
"Well tell me later, okay?" I said.
"Yeah, um...sure." Sophie said as we headed to assembly.
After the long talk at assembly, we went to class.
"Good morning class! Welcome back to RoseWood Middle School!" A lady shouted excitedly at front of the class. She wore a blue skirt, white top and a baby blue jacket.
"I'm guessing that's our new teacher," I muttered to myself.
"My name is Miss John and I'm going to be your new teacher, so please settle down and take your seats."
We all obeyed.
"Everyone please take out a piece of paper and write about what you did over the vacation," she said then wrote on the chalk board: "What you did over the vacation."
Everyone got some paper and started writing. After 10 minutes Miss John collected all the papers and read them aloud.
"For my vacation I sat home and watched a movie called..."
"Why is she reading them aloud? I thought she was going to read it later or something," Sophie whispered, panicking.
"What? That's good. Now I can hear what you did for your vacation." I reassured her. Sophie got up and asked the teacher if she could talk to her privately. She nodded and they both went outside to talk.
"I wonder what's wrong?" I thought to myself as she returned and sat in her seat.
"What did you tell her?" I asked, but she ignored me.
Miss John continued reading everyone's stories but I didn't hear Sophie's story.
"Ding- a ling- a ling!!" The bell rang. It was recess and while everyone ran outside to play, Sophie ran away.
I looked for Sophie but she was nowhere to be found. I stood in the halls and noticed a group of guys surrounding me with their fists clenched, ready for a fight.
I ran as fast as I could but one of the boys tripped me, causing my glasses to fall and my head to hit the ground hard.
"First day of school and I already damage myself," I thought. I tried to get up but I was frozen and I couldn't see very well. Everything was blurry and my eyes were slowly closing as I saw people running towards me. "Someone help...me!" I shouted, but no sounds came out. I couldn't speak.
