Chapter forty three

MALLIKA'S POV

"Please be okay."

I continued to chant these words while waiting outside the Emergency Room.

Meera met with an accident.

After I informed Ten about the situation someone called me from Meera's cell. He told me that she came in front of the truck and they were taking her to the hospital.

I saw Mann running through the hallways. He rested his hands on his knees and panted.

"How is she?!"

"I don't know." I didn't want to give him any false hope. The guy who was here before me told me that her condition was critical and she lost a lot of blood. Doctor hasn't come out of the room yet.

"I'll take care of the formalities." Mann said and left me alone.

*buzz buzz*

Ten calling… 

I refused the call. Just like the previous fifteen times. I don't want to talk to him. Although I have already killed Taeyong a thousand times in my mind, I can't bring myself to curse out loud.

I don't know what I'm gonna do if something happens to her. Please be okay.

"This is the first time I've seen you cry." Mann handed me a tissue. I wiped my tears and looked away. Soon her tauji and taiji came. I have met them before.

"How is she?! Where's the doctor?! Is she okay?!"

"Taiji please calm down." Instead of calming she cried. And cried. Tauji wiped a few tears of his and quietly went to a corner.

I wonder if her parents are worried.

"Where are you parents?" I asked Mann.

"They are still at home. Don't judge them. They are really worried about their one and only daughter."

"They expected a lot from her. She has always been an ideal daughter. How would they feel if they suddenly come to that she's pregnant and not ready to reveal anything about the father?"

He's right. In our society an unmarried pregnant woman with no trace of the father is considered a curse. People would be disgusted by her mere presence.

A lot of people aren't like that. The coming generation is open minded and accepting. But there a few dumb people who negatively influence others.

"Is she alright?" The doctor stepped out of the ER.

"Its a miracle that both, her child and she survived." We all sighed in relief and thanked the doctor. Tauji went with the doctor while we went inside to meet her.

MEERA'S POV

"Why did you do that?!" Mann shouted me. I was weakly lying on the bed. I'm sure I looked so pale and weak.

"I'm sorry." I apologised with a low voice and tears in my eyes.

"Now you will do what I say. You'll live at my place from now on. And you can keep this baby if you want to." Taiji said. Mallika covered her mouth. I still can't believe that she cried.

"I can wait to be a grandma!"

"But I can't. Mumma and papa might hate you for it. They could cut all their ties with you. I don't want that." I replied. I don't want her to be in bad terms with my parents.

"You could apply for a place to the Govt." Actually Mallika and I work in a Govt. Dept., so if we want a place to live they can provide us the same at a cheap rent.

"But it would still take a couple of months at least." She continued. Living with my relatives will only create problems.

"Live with Deep!" Taiji suggested.

Deep is her eldest son. He is ten years older to me and we are really close. He is the kind of brother that every little sister wants. Currently he is living in the same building as his parents but different aparpment with his wife and two year old daughter.

"I can take care of you like that." I couldn't say no and agreed to stay with bhaiya till I get my own place.

TAEYONG'S POV 

"And one, two, three.."

We were practising for the comeback. It was our last practice before tomorrow's comeback stage. Red Velevet had their stage three weeks back and I still haven't apologised to Yeri.

"Taeyong? Can I talk to you?" Irene sunbae called for me. We both went to her vacant practice room and sat against the wall.

"Aren't you gonna apologise to Yeri?" She was straightforward with her question.

"I was planning to." I didn't want to meet her eyes.

"Taeyong I know you're going through a lot of problems lately but playing with Yeri's feelings isn't a right thing to do."

"I'm not saying this as a leader but as Yeri's unnie. Please Taeyong." I nodded.

In the evening I entered the dorms. It was a bit late as I decided to apologise to Yeri. I'm glad that everything is now normal between us.

"Wazzup Winwin." Only he was awake at this hour. "Oh hyung." He linked our arms and led me to the sofa.

"Something happened." I nodded for him to continue. But before he could go furthur Ten came.

"Hyung can I talk to you?"

We ended up in the balcony. We both stayed silent.

"Please hyung. Stop being a jerk. I can't take this anymore." His eyes brimmed with tears and I pulled him into a tight hug. He cried against my chest. I cried too.

Soon we both relaxed and wiped our tears. I decided to be honest with him.

"I miss her. A lot." I gulped and looked at the night sky to prevent any tears from falling.

"I know I'm a heartless jerk. I don't deserve her at all. But I can't seem to forget her. I wanted to hate her more than she hates me so that I could forget her but I couldn't. I wasn't in my right mind back then." I admitted my true feelings.

"I s-should have mended things w-when I had the time. Judging her c-character like that only brought pain t-to us." I wiped my tears. Ten rubbed my back.

"She almost died."

My heart skipped a beat and I could feel goosebumps all over my body. I slowly turned to look at him. My throat went dry.

"It happened last week. I tried contacting Mallika but she didn't pick up any of my calls. Then finally she called me back this morning and told me."

"Meera tried to commit suicide by jumping in front of the truck. But fortunately she was saved."

My eyes went wider each second.

"What about the child?" I crossed my fingers.

"The child is fine too."

I sighed in relief.

"Ten, do you think that she will forgive me?"
