Chapter twenty two

TAEYONG'S POV

We were sitting under the tree for hours, quite close to one another. It was raining heavily but I couldn't help but feel warm with her. I have always wanted to feel this way with someone.

"Let's go and get drenched in rain." I pulled her up. She held my wrist and pointed towards my jacket which she was wearing.

"Gwenchana." I smiled at her and she sprinted towards the other side of the park. It was starting to get dark, maybe around 5 in the evening. We talked about a lot of things, shared our experinces and got more comfortable with each other.

"Wait for me!" I shouted and went in her direction.
When I almost reached her she ran in the opposite direction.

"Catch me if you can!" She did a bit of SNSD sunbaenim's choreo to it.
My long legs helped me and I caught her in no time. I lifted her bridal style.

"Caught you." She giggled as I tickled her a bit while lifting her up.

"Am I that heavy?" She whispered and  looked down.

"No." I softly said as her eyes found mine.
"Then why did- I mean I just want to know the reason-"
"I didn't mean a single word I said that time. It's just that I wanted to give you piggyback ride."
"Waeyo?"
"Because you …"
"Me?"
"…you are so soft like a teddy bear."

"Okay?" That's the truth actually. She is so soft and chubby. And moreover you get the feel of a life sized teddy bear with her.

"If we are okay then can I do something?"
"Like what?"
She started tickling me on the sides.
"NO! AAH! NO!" I couldn't control it and we both fell with me on top of her. Again.
She was still laughing about the tickling thing and didn't notice our position.

I just stared at her. She isn't physically attractive or a head-turner. She isn't someone who is perfect or beautiful.

But she is cute, pure and innocent.

And these are her strengths. She is lovable, huggable and fun to be with.

"Taeyong?"
"Huh?" I was still zoned out and unconsciously leaned in a bit.
The distance between us kept on reducing each second.

I didn't know if I was planning to do anything but the moment she closed her eyes I was sure of my actions.

I wanted to kiss her.

I felt her breath against my lips. I leaned in more and was about to kiss her when I felt a light on my face.

"Who is there?" (A/N: Italics convo means dialogues are in Korean.)

The guard marched towards us with a flashlight and an iron rod.
Oh no! He must not see us at any cost.

I got off her and pulled her with me far away to avoid the guard.

"Wait!" The guard shouted in our direction but we didn't stop.

We ran away from him. Our fingers interlinked with one another. I can't help but chuckle at the fact that her hand is so small.

After reaching a deserted place, we sighed and realised that we lost the guard long time back.

"Taeyong?" She said in between her heavy breaths.
"Neh?" I placed my hands on my knees as I inhaled greedy amounts of air.

"Your fingers are like knife. My hands hurt right now."
"Well that's because you are too soft."

We both looked at each other and started laughing.

Why is that every moment is so interesting with her? It's like she makes me forget everything else. She has some kind of a pure aura which pulls me towards her. Like a magnet.

We both walked towards nowhere. I wasn't familar with the place so we were just walking on a deserted road.

After some time we heard some faint sounds which became louder and louder. We looked back and found two strangers with knives pointed in our direction.

I carefully placed Meera behind me. Good thing I was able to cover whole of her.

"Ssh Taeyong?"
"Just stay quiet."

"Handover all the money." Those guys asked me while pointing their knives at me. I threw my wallet in their direction. They checked it and smiled in satisfaction.

"Is that little girl your girlfriend? You mind of we play with her for sometime. I'm sure she's good." I stiffened and looked behind only to see no one's existence. Where is she?!

What scared me the most was when I saw her behind those guys with a wooden stick in her hand. She motioned me to stay quiet. What the hell is she doing?!

She hit the first guy on the head. That was a hard hit for sure because he hell on the road with a loud thud. And when she aimed the head of the other guy, he covered his head with his hands. Meera quickly swung the stick and hit him down there.

"AAAAAHH!!!" Somehow I feel sorry for him.

I looked at her and her pure aura was all gone. Her eyes were filled with aggression. The first guy got up and held her tightly by the shoulders. The other one came towards her and gripped her hair. He slapped her with his free hand.

I wanted to help her but my legs were paralysed. I couldn't move an inch. They touched her and teased her. But she didn't cry at all.
I feel so sick and weak.

"Your boyfriend isn't protecting you. How sad." One of them slowly walked towards me.

"Yah! You lay one finger on him and I'll chop off your hands." She warned him in a serious and calm tone which made the guy fall back in his plan.

She somehow got out of their grip and kicked both of them between their legs.

With the time she had, she picked up the stick and started beating them like there's no tomorrow. No mercy could be seen in her eyes.

"Please! Someone help us! Taeyong-ssi?!"

I couldn't do anything and saw the whole thing. I feel like a coward now. I couldn't even protect the girl I like.

She stopped and looked at them with soft eyes. Her pure aura was back.
She knelt down in front of them.
"Who sent you?" They were confused just like me.

"WHO SENT YOU?!" They flinched and understood everything she said.
They said something and ran for their lives.

"COME HERE YOU MOTHAFUCKAS! I'LL TELL YOU WHAT REAL BEATING IS. SWINES!"

What is happening right now? Everything I just saw was too much for me. The guilt and burden of being a coward was weighing on my shoulders. I fell on my knees and hit my head against the road.
I saw Meera running towards me before I lost consciousness.
