Left or Right?

Cassie's P.O.V

"The bell just rang Fernanda and you still have no idea where we are" I heard an irritated voice say around the corner.

"I know where we are" another girl objected.

I turned the corner and saw Ember arguing with another girl, which I'm guessing was Fernanda.

She had long black messy hair, and was tan, she also wore glasses as she stared intently at the school map. She had on a pair of sweats, with a soccer shirt, and her backpack looked as if it weighed a ton.

"Hey Ember" I said walking up to them.

"Oh hey Cassie" Ember turned to greet me, the other girl turned and I noticed she had big brown eyes, unlike Ember's unique violet orbs. I wasn't sure if they were contacts, but I mean they had to be.

Right?

"You guys lost too?" I asked Ember and her friend. "Completely, what advisory teacher do you have" Ember asked me.

"Mr. Ley, you?" I asked, "same" they both said simultaneously.

"Oh by the way, Cassie meet Fernanda, Fernanda meet Cassie" Ember introduced us.

"Hey" I said to Fernanda with a wave, "sup" she said with a nod.

I went over to the map Fernanda was holding and tried to look for room 126.

"I think we turn right and down this corner." I said to Fernanda.

"We came that way, it's gotta be left." Fernanda said.

As we argued which direction to go, I felt a small chill down my spine as if the whole room turned into a freezer. Then the lights flickered.

"Hey guys I found it" I heard Ember's voice say, but when I turned to ask her where to go she wasn't there.

Instead she was all the way down the left hall.

I could have sworn she was behind us a second ago.

"Told you it was left" Fernanda said snapping me out of my thoughts as she went to go catch up.

Finally I decided to run down the hall and catch up to the two.

Surely enough Ember had found room 126. "How did you know" I asked Ember.

"I actually know how to read a map" she said pointing to the map in her hand as she turned the knob.

"You're late" a male voice said as we walked in the classroom. "Sorry sir, we got lost" Ember quickly said. He sighed as Fernanda and I nodded our heads in agreement, "since it is the first day I will let you off with a warning" Mr. Ley said.

"Now take a seat" he said.

The desks were in straight rows, we looked around and saw 3 desks empty. Two were in the same row, while the other was next to the farther empty desk.

I sat in one seat and Ember sat behind me, while Fernanda sat next to Ember.

Mr.Ley went over more school guidelines then he let us have some talk time.

"So, where do you think we should go for free period" Ember asked Fernanda.

"Well I'm going to the library, it's actually kind of fun they have snacks, comfy chairs, and you can talk all you want." Fernanda explained.

"Sounds like paradise" Ember said.

"Well, I can take you guys there after class, and I can promise you this time we won't get lost" Fernanda offered.

Ember looked at me "wanna go?" She asked.

"Sounds fun, so why not" I agreed.

"Okay, I'll just text the others to most us there" Ember said taking out her phone.

"Done" she said after five seconds. Then the bell rang "right on time" I joked to her as we stood from our desks.

We walked out of the classroom and followed Fernanda down stairs and through the many filled halls, finally we reached double doors and Fernanda opened them, "welcome to the library" she said dramatically.

As we walked in I looked around in awe, the place was huge and comfy, as promised.

"Hey I see the others" Ember said snapping me back in reality.

I looked over to where she was waving and saw the others. They were with another guy.

"Hey guys" Ember said to everyone.

"Ew Josh you came along too" Fernanda joked while punching him in the arm.

"You know I come here everyday" he defended while rubbing his arm.

"Yea to play your stupid Pokémon go" she said with a snort.

Lia let a small laugh escape, Josh's face grew red at the sound of her laugh "that's not true" he said with a small blush.

"Whatever" Fernanda said rolling her eyes.

"Hey do they have a manga or comic section" Ember asked Fernanda, "I'm kinda a geek for that stuff".

Fernanda's eyes grew wide and bright, "of course! Follow me." Fernanda said dragging away Ember.

"Hey, got anything fun to do in here" Lia asked walking over to Josh.

He gulped nervously and nodded, "sure" He said walking away, Lia smirked at the rest of us and followed Josh.

I looked back at Michael and Dean, "so what do you guys think of the school so far" I asked them.

"It's cool, I just still don't know why Briggs is sending us on a case here, nothing suspicious had really happened" Dean said. "For once I agree, I think Briggs just wanted to keep us busy" Michael agreed.

"I don't know guys, I've been feeling a little uneasy for some reason" I admitted to the boys.

"It's probably just first day nerves" Dean said "maybe" I said, trying to make myself believe I was just imagining it.

"Well, come on, let's quit standing here like doofuses and actually try to have a little fun" Michael said walking in the direction Ember and Fernanda had earlier.

Dean walked off to where Josh and Lia went.

Something's not right

I caught up with Dean and walked with him.
