Chapter Three

[August 22nd, 2007]

In New Haven a few days later, Tom returned home from work. He placed his things down and sat next to Sabine on the couch in thier living room.

Sabine is looking at photos of Marietta before she went missing.

Sabine: When are they going to find her?

She asked her husband, in a angry tone.

Tom: I don't know.

Sabine: I can't believe they didn't have any security cameras working. They're supposed to have them working for emergency purposes.

Tom: Detective Morris said-

Sabine: I don't care what he said, Tom! I want my daughter!

Tom: Why are you so mad at me? The shifts were changing, it was night, and no one was around the isle. It was a perfect time to take a child.

Sabine sighed and looked down, and mumbled a sorry. She didn't know why she was angry at Tom. He should be mad at her. She was supposed to watch Marietta.

Sabine: I'm sorry, really I am. You must be so mad at me.

Tom gave Sabine a quick kiss on the lips.

Tom: I'm not mad, Honey. It wasn't you're fault. You didn't know something like this would happen.

Sabine: I just wanna hold her again. Tell her that I love her and never let her go.

Tom wrapped his arm around Sabine.

Tom: We'll find her. We have the police and dozen of random people who have a heart.

Sabine: But remember that little girl? Michelle Louise. She was taken from the same supermarket and was found murdered.

Tom: If you think thats gonna happen to Marietta then you should stop thinking it. Marietta is alive Sabine.

Sabine looked down and nodded slowly.

That night, she couldn't sleep. She had the same nightmare since Marietta went missing. In the nightmare, she found Marietta dead in a ditch. Sabine took some pills to help her sleep better.

Sabine: Wherever you are, I will find you Marietta. And I will bring you home.
