It was early on Sunday, church bells rung as Jade strode down the hallway towards the Witch's chamber. She had woken up early enough to catch Azure before he left out. Azure liked to get out and do his things early due to a spells of narcolepsy that happen more frequently later in the day. Jade felt slightly bad for her witch, he always looked so tired. Whenever she looked at his face it was always dull, he was exhausted and she knew. He fell asleep at the worst of times as well, sometimes putting himself in danger or embarrassing himself to the point his face was bright red.
Jade shook her head as she made it to the wooden door that was actually made of weaving tree branches and other things. She knocked, but got no answer, so she knocked again. No answer. Eventually she pushed open to find Azure asleep standing up with a glass bottle in hand. It soon slipped out of his grasp and clashed to the floor in a mini explosion of glass shards and strange purple liquid. Azure shot upright and stumbled backwards at the sudden noise, he tripped over his own feet and smacked his head on the book shelf behind him before trying to catch himself on a shelf and managing to pull books off of it. He eventually tumbled to the floor where he hit his head again with a loud grunt.
Jade rushed over and looked down at the dazed male on the floor. With closer examination, she saw that his nose had started bleeding.
The queen was about to say something but he beat her to it, "Oh! Queen Jade I didn't see you there," he said and stared up at her before his face turned almost as red as the blood coming from his nose, "Please excuse my clumsiness!" He said and scrambled to his feet and bowed before her.
Jade just sighed and motioned for him to stay upright, "There's no reason for me to excuse something that you can't help. I know about the narcolepsy Azure. It's okay." She said and took out a hanky she kept in her pocket before she lifted the cloth and wiped away the blood from the witch's nose.
Azure blushed slightly and looked down, "I know your highness. I will try to be more careful." He said and looked like a kicked puppy at the mention of his problem.
Jade sighed gently and then put a hand on his shoulder, "Nevermind that, I have a job for you. A big one." She said and watched as Azure looked up excitedly.
"Really?! You mean I'm not needed for silly party tricks anymore?!" Azure said but soon realized what he said and started to reel back clumsily, "I mean- I don't mind party tricks I just-" he stuttered but was stopped by Jade.
"I know, I know," the queen said with obvious amusement in her voice, "This is a big task though. It requires your best effort and patience." She said and watched as Azure practically got stars in his eyes.
"Yes I understand!" He said excitedly.
"Good, your job is to use all your tricks and spells and other things to find Terry's soulmate. To do this, he'll have to stay with you so you know how he acts and such." Jade said and watched at Azure practically froze.
"T-the p-prince..?" Azure managed to choke out.
"Yes." Jade confirmed.
"H-here? In my quarters? S-so f-far from the c-castle?" Azure stuttered.
"Yes." Jade responded.
"For how long...?" Azure said and he ran his fingers through his almost white hair.
"However long it takes." Jade said, "Are you going to take the job?" She asked.
"Y-yes! I mean- Yes your highness." Azure said and bowed to the queen, "I accept the task. I thank you very much for this opportunity. I will not let you down." He said which seemed to please the monarch standing in front of him.
"Good. He moves in today." Jade said and started to leave.
"Today?!" Azure squeaked as the queen left his little home.
