Chapter 18

Chapter Eighteen

I tackled Chloe into a hug not caring about my tender scars, I took a step back to get a proper look at her and somehow in the short amount of time she had been here her physical appearance had dramatically changed. Her hair wasn’t as dull, her skin was practically glowing and her eyes held a life that certainly wasn’t there in the hell hole we were subjected to.

“How are you? I can’t believe you made it out! I don’t know how to thank you” I couldn’t stop talking, I was so happy she was safe and sound and that I might be able to repay her for all that she had done for me while I was a prisoner.

“I’m fine, I’m fine” She said with a wide smile. “Well if it wasn’t for you I’m not sure I would of, when you called out for me, Alpha Roman saw who you were calling out to and stopped the attack” She looked up at Billy lovingly and started to soothingly rub his chest. “And if it wasn’t for you I might never of met my mate, so I should really be the one thanking you”

“As long as you are safe that is all I need” I felt Romans hand wrap itself around my waist and I couldn’t help but smile at his touch.

“You two look great together” The words hit me harder than they should have, I couldn’t help but be reminder of what I would have to eventually do. Billy looked at me as if to say “See, I told you to give him a chance”. Had I really? I’ve known all along what I’ve wanted to do and I never took in the possibility of actually falling for Roman, was my first impression of him clouding my judgement? Should I give him a real chance? I looked up at him to see him smiling like an idiot. I swallowed hard and moved his hand from my waist.

“I really need to have a shower, I should be ready in 20 okay?” He smiled down at me and said okay, giving me a peck on the lips and sending me on my way. I walked down the hall hoping I would be able to find our room a little easier. I wasn’t exactly sure how I had made it back without getting completely lost but within no time I found myself back in Roman and mines room and grabbed some clothes and quickly hoped into the shower.

I begun washing my hair and got lost in my own little world, going through every thought I had ever had on Roman; he was a caveman, unpredictable, easily angered and could be a complete jerk but then there was this other side of him that I was addicted to; the undeniable sweetness behind each smile, his touch that warmed my body, his kisses that sent electric pulses throughout my entire body, his voice that could lull me to sleep in the most stressful of times. Fingers beginning to prune I decided I had spent enough time in the shower.

I dried myself and got dressed and began drying my hair off as I walked into the bedroom. I saw Roman lying across the bed cleaning out his nails in boredom. He rolled over onto his side and cocked his eyebrow at me.

“That was not 20 minutes” He said whilst pouting his gorgeous lips.

“Sorry, I got caught up in the shower” He rolled his eyes at me and jumped off the bed.

“Well are you ready now?” I nodded and he took my hand and started pulling me through his house again. As we were walking through the house I couldn’t help but notice Jake and Nate sitting in the lounge room. I stopped in my tracks to say hello which caught Roman of guard.

“Jake, Nate hey” They both looked over to me and smiled.

“Hey Tera, how are you? I haven’t been able to visit you since you—um got back” Jake asked. I looked over to Roman who shrugged, I could only imagine the strict rules of no one being able to see me. “I could be worse and it’s okay, we should hung out soon though” Roman groaned and I rolled my eyes. “Well I guess that’s my cue to leave, I’ll see you guys around” I got a nod from Nate but Jake looked like he was about to get up but stopped himself and waved goodbye. The pulling started again and soon we were outside, Romans pace had slowed down but his hand never let go of mine.
