I woke up from my sleep when the bus driver started to shake me awake. "Kid! We're at your stop!" He yelled as I groaned waking up.

"Hmmm?" I grumbled as I sat up straight. The bus driver rolled his eyes. "We're at your apartment so you can get off my bus now." He snapped, but you could hear the care in his voice.

I nodding and stood up and walked towards the bus doors. I paid him with a reasonable tip. I looked back and smiled at him and the near empty bus. In a way, this bus was my safe place. No one judges me or bullies me or is too busy for me. I find it comforting.

My smile grew wider. "That man's heart is in the right place." I spoke out loud. Then a voice came from behind me. "Who's?" The voice was familiar yet unfamiliar.

The voice at first startled me. "Huh? Oh! You're there when I tripped down the stairs!" I hugged the man tightly. I know that it's not the smartest thing to do, but he didn't point his finger and laugh but in fact helped her up again. For that I had to show my gratitude.

He was stiff at first but then hugged me right back. "Why are you hugging me? Not that it's not nice though." His voice was very soothing. I smiled and responded with, "you're one of the first people not to either ignore me or laugh at me when I did something like that..." Memories filled my mind and tears came to my eyes.

When the hug became too long we moved away. His eyes widened when he saw the tears rolling down my eyes and he wiped them away quickly. "What's wrong!?" He asked frantically in a worrying tone.

I shook my head and pushed his hands away. "Just old memories." My voice didn't crack which I was glad for.

He held his hands by his side. I smiled at him. "Why don't I show you my apartment? It's the least that I can do." My face heated up lightly. He nodded and I turned and started for my apartment.

My apartment was on the second floor and I opened the door as soon as we reached it. "Sorry the place is a mess but home is home." I smiled and invited him in.

He stepped in and a smile came to his face. His smiled built as he looked around. "It feels like an actual home." He sat down on the couch putting his arms behind his head.

I smiled at him automatically feeling right at home. "make yourself at home is what I would have said. If you hadn't done so already." I giggled and picked up on the light shade of pink that dusted across his pale cheeks.

I sat next to him on the couch except I was a bit tense. I had never had friends over before. So this was a huge deal to me. "Can I get you something? Beverage? Food?" I offered shyly.

He looked at me and shook his head. I hadn't really realized that I hadn't made him take his hat an jacket off. "Hey sir! I forgot something. You can't wear stuff like jackets and hats in here." I apologized and reached for his hat.

He tried to karate chop my hand and I backed off. "I-I'm sorry...." I looked away and he looked down. "Sorry, but the stuff stays on. It's not you, it's me...." His face just seemed to keep getting brighter.

I just got tense. It got really awkward, I didn't want to break the ice, but I'm the host and I had to. "So.... Tell me about yourself." I asked awkwardly and he only shrugged. "Not much to say." He kept his gaze away from mine.

I shook my head rapidly. "I'm sure you are a very interesting person!" I patted his shoulder lightly to get him to talk to me. He looked at me and smiled.

"If only you knew" his voice shook. I shot him a curious glance and he burst into laughter. I chuckled softly. "I have a friend that would love you." He pointed out.

I laughed harder at that. I looked at his when he didn't say anything or laugh I snapped to attention. "You weren't kidding? I haven't heard that in a loooong time..." I rubbed the back of my head sheepishly and smiled awkwardly.

He smiled. "You remember the guy that helped you up today? He'll love you!" He pat my shoulder. "In fact I'm gonna set you two up." It was my face's turn to flush now. "Wh-what now? Like a d-d-date???" I started to freak out mentally.

I haven't ever gone out on a date in my entire life, so this was really scary.

When he nodded my heart stopped beating temporarily. "He'll pick you up tomorrow evening most likely. If things don't go as planned then I will inform you immeadieantly." He winked and stood. "See you!" Then he left my apartment.

I sat there stunned at the sudden exit. I stopped in my thoughts. My mind was blank. "Lets just get something to eat the go to sleep. I'm definitely beat..." I sloped up and into my room.
