I know it's weird, but I'm actually okay with going to college on my own. I know my friends and I had a plan, but I guess it didn't go how we wanted it to. Now here I am, going to CSU, Colorado State University. I've always wanted to go here and I finally am. The best thing is that they have what I want to major in, business. Yeah I know it sounds boring, but you can get anywhere with business. I'm so excited to be going to school there, I visited it a month ago with my friends Allison and Calum. They also wanted to go to CSU, but both found something on the East side that had what they wanted.
You see, Calum is a soccer player. He got a scholarship at Notre Dame, Indiana. He was a star player in high school, always scored the goals and was able to actually keep the ball when he got it. He's also been my best friend for about 2 years. I know it doesn't seem like a long time, but it all happened when I went over to his house to talk to his sister, Mali-Koa. Mali and I were partners for this project in school and I never knew she was Calum's sister. That day I went over and he opened the door, I'm sure my mouth was on their front door. I was shocked because I never thought they were siblings, yeah I know they have the same last name, but they could have been cousins. Calum was kind of a jerk and mister popular, while Mali was sweet and just an average teen who had guys lining up. She was really pretty and an amazing singer too. From that day forth, I ended up going over to their house every weekend or every other day after school. I used to hang out with Mali, but once she got a boyfriend, I ended up downstairs in their living room; watching tv or in their kitchen baking something by myself, even though we both were suppose to do it together
There was this one time I was over and Calum came home, I think from that specific day, we started to hang out and became best friends.
(Okay whatever is in italics is a flashback and whatever is in normal text, it's present time, unless said otherwise)
*Flashback*
I was in their kitchen, looking for the flour. I knew Mali told me that they kept it in the top left cabinet. Or was it the right. Ugh, I don't even know. I would go and ask her, but she's a bit busy with her boyfriend. I knew I would end up doing this on my own, but whatever, it needs to be done. I grabbed my phone and earphones, putting them in and blasting "Somewhere in Neverland" by All Time Low. I placed my phone in my back pocket and continued to look for the flour. I was dancing a little, aware that there was no one there; but Mali, her boyfriend and myself. I looked through all the cabinets above and found nothing. My favorite part came on and I sang it, twirling around but soon stopped in my tracks when I seen Calum leaning against the doorway with a smirk on his face. He said something but I couldn't hear, so I pulled out my earphones, "Huh?"
"Having fun?"
"Uhh.."
He laughed and shook his head, "What are you doing in my kitchen?"
"Well, your sister and I are suppose to be baking for the charity event at school." I said, looking at him. Still feeling a bit embarrassed that he just caught me dancing and heard my awful singing.
"But?" He asked with an eyebrow raised. I took in his appearance and by the looks of it, he just came from soccer practice. His hair was damp, to which I assume he probably took a shower and the fact that his soccer bag was on the counter, which was a big give away that he did come from soccer practice.
"But your sister is upstairs with her boyfriend."
"Ah, Chase." He said and walked to the fridge, opening it and taking out a water.
"Yeah.." I put one side of my headphones in my ear and turned back around, continuing to look for the flour.
"If she's busy upstairs, why are you still here?" He asked from behind.
