Chapter Sixteen
Eleanor's Pov~
My heels dung into the ground. I looked down at the ravine I almost fell into and sighed in relief. I had been running for hours and the sun had already set. I had no clue were I was or how I would get home. Who am I kidding? I don't really have I place I feel I can call home.
I looked to either side of me. The ravine stretched out for miles and was too deep and wide to try to jump. Even if it wasn't I've never been that go at jumping. I turned around and begin to walked back to the forest which I see slightly far off.
Are you sure you want to go back to them? Gloria asked.
Geez, haven't heard from you in a long time. I said.
Well, I haven't felt a need to talk. You haven't been really alone and in thought. That's the only time I can get your attention. She said.
Well, sorry I have a life and friends. I rolled my eyes.
You still haven't answered my question, are you sure you want to go back? She asked.
They're my friends. I replied.
But, I thought this was your last chance at freedom. You can't have freedom with them, you can have freedom you turn around and keep moving forward. You can't move back. She explained.
I guess I won't have freedom. I smirked.
I ran back to Kara and Fawn. I stopped a few trees from them. I heard them talking about me. I had to hear this without them knowing.
"Eleanor really doesn't seem like the royal type." Fawn said. "She doesn't even really seem to want to be princess."
"She's just not used to it. All her life she remembers being shut out and she's been a bit of a wallflower. She only had one friend that she was really close with when Louis met her. She's just not used to it fully yet." Kara explained. "Give it time and she'll be completely ready."
"I hope you're right." Fawn sighed. "I mean I trust her, but she doesn't seem comfortable. I don't just mean with ruling. She seems all lovey dovey with Louis, but-"
"You really don't want to go there, Fawn." Kara said. "Louis is cursed and I still need to finish the cure. Just don't go there."
"It's not just Louis and Eleanor with that problem is it." Fawn looked at Kara observing her expression. "You and Nico? Wow, you never seemed that type!"
"I don't know what you mean." Kara looked at her as if she was crazy.
Fawn grabbed a stick near her and poked the fire. She whispered something under her breath and the fire came to life.
It showed the story of Kara and Nico. They met 1800s and fell in love. Louis didn't trust Nico and not just because he was a vampire. He made Kara chose, him or Nico. Kara was furious and picked Nico in her dazed love for him. She didn't know all he wanted was her magic. He used her and then, when he was done he broke her heart and left her just as Louis predicted.
Kara tried and pleaded for Louis forgiveness. He told her a thousand years was a long time and put her under her own sleep spell. When she woke again, Nico had come back to her and told her he was in love for real this time. Louis was nowhere to be seen so, Kara gave Nico a second chance. They lived as a couple for a while. Nico finally took the next step and proposed to Kara. She said yes and they had a quite secret wedding.
A year later, Nico was called by the vampire council to come back to the island and settle somethings. He told Kara he would see her again. What nether of them knew at the time was that Kara... she was pregnant with their first child. This was just one or two months ago.
