Welcome Home

"Ms. Queen, you have a visitor." Rosa, the maid says politely as she cracks my bedroom door open. 

"Who?" I question sleepily as I wake up from my nap. 

"Laurel Lance." Rosa answers politely. 

"Send her in. Thank you Ms. Rosa." I say nicely. 

Rosa nods her head and shuts the door close. I quickly go to change out of my wrinkled shirt. I pull a black shirt over my head, but when the shirt is halfway down my torso, I hear a gasp. 

"Where did you get those scars?" A voice ask. 

I pull my shirt down quickly and turn to see a fully grown up Laurel Lance. I walk up to her and shut my bedroom door close. I lean against the cool wooden door and smile at Laurel. 

"Laurel." I say happily. 

"Thea, what happened to you? The news report never talked about any trama." Laurel says. 

"Well, that's because they think I got these scars from when the Queen's Gambit went down." I say as I walk towards my bed. 

"Aren't they?" Laurel questions. 

I stiffen. I put a smirk on my face and turn towards her. 

"If you came here so that I could tell you what those 5 years were like, you came to the wrong place. Look, I just got back home Laurel. All I want to do is just try to get back to normal." I answer as I flop on my bed. 

"Okay, then that's what I'm here for. Lets go to town, you and me." Laurel says confidently as she strides towards me. 

"Right now?" I question. 

"Right now. It can be like those mall trips we used to take when I was dating Oliver." Laurel says as she pulls me up from the bed. 

"Okay, let's do it." I say with a small smile as we walk out my bedroom, arms linked together.

"Okay, this the most fun I've had in such a long time." Laurel announces as we walk down the street. 

I'm carrying the many bags of clothes, shoes, and accessories that we purchased for me. While Laurel is carrying a bucket filled with fries and a soda in hand. 

"Well I've been on an island for 5 years. What's your excuse?" I ask. 

"Work. After all that the blood and sweat I put into school, I finally got the career I wanted." Laurel says. 

"But?" I add as we turn the corner.

"It feels as if there's no room for me to breath. Don't get me wrong, I love helping people and keeping this city safe. But I just feel my life is surround by work." Laurel says truthfully as she feeds me a couple fries.

"Well  everyone deserves to be happy. How are things at CNRI?" I ask as I chew the fries.

"How'd you know I work at CNRI?" Laurel ask with a questionable eyebrow lift. 

"Oliver told me." I cover up smoothly. 

Laurel nods with understanding. We start walking through an alley to go to Laurel's car. That's when I noticed a black van pull to a stop, blocking one of the two entrance/exits. I jerk to a stop, noticing another black van pulling up on the last unblocked entrance/exit. 

"What's wrong, Speedy?" Laurel says, using my old nickname. 

I turn around, noticing people in mask piling of the van, armed with guns. 

"Laurel, run!" I scream. 

But before Laurel or I could move our feet, we are quickly shot with tranquilizers. Laurel falls to the floor first. I pull out the tranq from my neck, before collapsing as well. 

We had been captured.

I gasp awake as I feel cold water being thrown on me. A hood is quickly ripped of my face. I see 3 blurry figures, still with mask on their faces, two armed with guns. 

"Thea Queen! It's nice of you to join us!" The man, I assume the leader, says. 

"Where am I? Where's Laurel?" I say, pulling my wrist, noticing they are bound by handcuffs. 

The leader moves out my view, to reveal Laurel laying on a dirty, thin mattress. Still unconscious. 

"If you hurt her, I swear!" I scream. 

"The only person who's gonna get hurt right now, is you if you don't answer my questions. Did you father, Robert Queen, say anything to you before he died?" The leader questions.

I stare stoically at him in defiant. The leader scoffs and takes something from of the men behind him. The leader places something on, and I began to spasm in pain, losing my breath. 

"Did your father give you something before he died?" The leader questions again. 

I don't answer again, resulting me to be tased once more. 

"Answer me!" The leader screams as he waves the taser threateningly. 

"Wait, I'll tell you." I gasp, still in pain and trying to catch my breath. 

The leader kneel downs at eye levels to me. 

"He told me, he told me...that I'm gonna kick your ass." I whisper. 

I snap my wrist out of place, escaping the handcuffs. I punch the leader in the face, while I snap my wrist back in place. I take the taser and electrocute him. The two men quickly raise their guns to fire off shots at me, I use the leader's body as a shield. As soon as I'm close to second man, I push the leader's body away from to the third man and grab the second man's gun. I push the gun toward him, making it hit his masked face. I rip the gun away from him and fire off a few shots off  into the second man, I turn and train my gun to the third and final man. The third  man lays on the ground in fear, the leader's body still partially on top of him. I walk towards him and look down at him apologetically. 

"I'm sorry. I didn't want to kill, but you left me no choice." I say solemnly. 

"Please, we didn't want to do this. Don't kill me." The third man pleads.

"Believe me, I wish there was another way." I say before shooting the man in the head, killing him. 

"But no one can know my secret." I say as I dig into the dead leader's pocket. 

I find what I'm looking for, a cellphone. I dial 911.

"911, what's your emergency?" The operator ask. 

"My name is Thea Queen. My friend, Laurel Lance, and I were abducted. I don't know where we are." I say into the phone, pretending to sound shaken up and scared.

"Okay, Ms. Queen. I'm tracking your location and sending police officers now." The operator says  calmly. 

"Please, hurry. I'm starting to hear gunshots." I say as I start firing the gun into one of the bodies.  

'No one can know my secret.' I repeat in my head.
