see, i have things to say but i tie vines around my mouth and dip my tongue in tar because i always felt that the stars inside me would come spilling out if i said a word. speaking up creates noise and noise changes lives and yet the roof of my mouth is sticky and refuses to let me cry. what i'm trying to say is that please forgive me. what i'm trying to explain is that never make the mistake i did.

one day you will wake up bound in gold and wishing you'd utilised your mouth. tear off the screens and scream. when they shush you up and tell you to bite your tail, break free and growl. if you want to sing and they burn your voice, swallow your microphone. never stay quiet. the silence will enter your bones and puff up your lungs till it bursts, the silence will choke you in your sleep, the silence will be louder than any of the words you will forget to say.

speak till your saliva turns to butterflies, scream till you grow wings, sing till they all pause their life to listen. this world is loud with knives and it will feel like your voice will burn out but saying things will make the world softer and days brighter.

speak. for the love of god, speak.
