we built forests in yearning of success, a
never ending parade of people marching to
the ocean to drink it up, because
that's hard work, you see?

maybe it seems silly to you now but
when i was younger
i've had the words "kid, you'll move mountains,"
etched on the inside of my skull and
i've been building mountains ever since-
in hopes of me moving them someday.

since then my greatest fears have been
failure and bad luck and being buried deep under.
