Sirius watched Harry from the other side of the playground. He was so similar to James it was scary; their shared characteristics were visible even through the night and Harry’s youth.
Sirius felt a rush of sadness and guilt which was quickly followed by anger towards Peter Pettigrew as he thought of the best friend he would never see again and his wife, a woman just as dear to Sirius as James had been.
Startled by a sudden noise Harry turned round and peered into the darkness, his eyes, so similar to Lily’s, shining in the misty lamplight. Sirius yearned with all his heart that he could see him properly, as his godfather and not a criminal who was wanted for a crime he didn’t commit, but wished he had, before turning and running away, heading back to Hogwarts for the first time in years.
