"hello, petal." grant mumbled into his phone, tired and weary from shooting, but that was not all behind his tiredness.

"heyo nerd, not get any sleep?"

"yeah, i was up all night thinking.." he yawned and stretched a bit.

"what about?" she questioned, curious.

"the season finale." grant lied, pursing his lips.

lilac could tell that what he said was a fib, but she decided to not question it any further. if it wasn't his tone that set it off, it was his messy hair and baggy eyes that did. who loses sleep over a show? she wondered, then mentally face-palmed, for she herself had done that.

"so, its that bad, huh?" she looked at him through the phone.

"hm? oh yeah, yeah..its uh-pretty stressful is all." his face twisted up and he attempted to cover it by rubbing his face. "anyways, how was your day with montgomery?"

by this point in time, grant and lilac were acquaintances but lilac was really comfortable around him in such a little amount of time which made grant happy.

"it was good. we went shopping, and oh!" she laughed quickly, recalling a memory. "okay, so," she paused, holding back laughter. her attempt failed, and she had to give herself a minute to continue.

"sorry," lilac said, covering her mouth. "so we went to a garden place because, fuck it, right?"

"and they had these ponds that actually had water and fish in them. so at this point we were like: let's push someone in there, because fuck it, right?" she repeated, but with more sass than the previous time.

"oh no..." grant rolled his eyes but leaned closer, desperate to hear the rest.

"so this mother and child walk by, and mont, i..she-oh my god-i swear she put her life into that shove and he hit the water faster than you can blink." she held back a chuckle.

"it was so bad because the poor little guy couldnt swim and the mom was screaming at us to get him out and we just ran. it was so funny at the time but now that i think of it i feel bad." lilac's lips turned into a frown, and she stared deeply at bed covers.

"yeah, thats kinda fucked up, but you didnt do it ..so i mean, dont beat yourself up about it."

"thanks, grant, you're a really great friend." she smirked, and sent him a smile.

"so we're friends now, yeah?" he raised his eyebrows.

"i guess so nerd, i guess so."
