Fresh Start

I wake the next morning, and begin to get ready. I put on my Twenty One Pilots shirt, jeans, and converse. I take my meds, and find my brace. I put it on, and head downstairs to the kitchen.

"Good morning beautiful!", Sean greets me, and kisses me on the forehead. I smile, and give him a hug. I pour a bowl of cereal, and eat a lot. Not eating dinner last night really made me hungry. "Has Christian taken his meds yet?", I ask. "Yes.", Sean says, as someone knocks on the door. Sean answers it, and it's the nurse. "Hello! My name is Carey! I'm the nurse for Christian!", she says. "Hi! My name is Anna, and that's Sean. Nice to meet you! Christian's room is upstairs, first door to the left.", I tell her. "Hey, I just want to let you know, the school we're going to isn't the best. The education is amazing, but the students aren't. I heard they are really mean, but this is a fresh start for the both of us.", Sean says. He's right. This is a fresh start. And I'm glad. We both grab our bags and head out the door.

I go to my locker, and Sean's right. The kids are really mean. I've been teased, kicked, and punched already. This may be a fresh start, but kids are really mean. I hope this isn't like the past two schools I've been in. Unfortunately, it looks like it might be that way.

I go to class, and the teacher announces Sean and I. "Alright class! We have two new students, Anna and Sean! Please make them feel welcome! Sit wherever you'd like, my name is Mrs. Baker.", Mrs. Baker says. "Oh! We got ourselves a new girl who lookin' fine! But, you know what that means.", one of the guys says. "I have a boyfriend.", I tell them. "So? Meet us outside after school, okay?", the guy tells me. I roll my eyes, even though I plan on meeting them outside after school.

Sean and I sit alone together, but we're fine with that. All we need is each other. "You're not going to meet them outside after school, are you?", Jackson asks, concerned. "I was thinking about it. Why?", I say. "Don't. They're going to rape you Anna!", Sean tells me. "How do you know?", I ask. "Because. I heard on the news that there was a group of guys who had a girl meet them outside after school, and they raped her. Please don't do it!", Sean says. "I won't.", I tell him.

After school, we go home, and talk to Christian. "Christian, if you could do anything in the world, or go anywhere in the world, what would it be?", I ask. "Well, I would really like to go on a Disney Cruise!", Christian says. "Alright. Thanks bud.", I tell him.

I then go to my room, and call the Make A Wish Foundation. "Hi, yes, my name is Anna, and I'm calling because my little brother, Kyle has stage three lung cancer. He would like to go on a Disney Cruise. Is there any way we could make that happen for him?", I ask. "Yes! Please call us when you are getting ready to make plans for dates.", the person on the phone says. "Thank you!", I say, and hang up.

That evening, Sean sits on my bed. "Hey.", he says. "Hey babe!", I say, and sit up. I rest my head on his shoulder. "I wish I could assure that Christian isn't going to leave.", Jackson says. "Me too.", I say. "Do you want to stay asleep with your head on my shoulder?", Christian asks. "Yes, please.", I say, and close my eyes.
