All I Have Left

(Sean's P.O.V.)

I wake up the next morning, and begin to get ready. I put on a blue shirt, jeans, and my high tops. I go over to my nightstand to grab my bag, and see a note that reads,

Sean,

I want you to know that I love you. Don't ever think differently. I love you so much, but I just can't take this anymore. Listen. I know that I'm all that you have, but I promise you that there are better, beautiful, and smarter girls out there than me. I'm going to go see my mom, Caleb, and Christian. I love you.

Love,

Anna.

I gasp as I read the note, because she's all I have left. Just then, I get a call from someone.

"Hello, is this Sean?", the person asks.

"Yes. Who is this?", I ask.

"It doesn't matter. Do you know someone by the name of Anna?", the person asks.

"Yes. She's my girlfriend. What's going on?", I ask.

"She was in a terrible car accident. We assume that it happened last night, but we're not sure. We just now found her, and she wasn't responding. We're hoping that she just passed out, at the very least. However, her chances of surviving are very low. When we found her, her car was turned upside down. She has a bunch of glass in her face. She has lost a lot of blood. She's on her way to the emergency room right now.", the person says.

I hang up instantly, and grab my keys. Strangely, they're on the counter. I wonder if that was supposed to be my clue.

About fifteen minutes later, I arrive at the emergency room. I sit down, when I see a group of paramedics come in with a stretcher. It's Anna. She's covered in blood and glass. I hope she's going to be okay.

About five hours later, I'm allowed to visit Anna in the ICU. Unfortunately, she doesn't look any better. Yes, she may not be covered in glass or blood anymore, but she's still in a bad condition. Then, the doctor comes in.

"Sean, may I please speak with you outside?", the doctor asks.

I walk outside, and there's not one ounce of hope in the doctor's  face.

"Listen. Anna was in a very bad car accident. She will be lucky if she lives. I have never seen someone in this bad of a condition in my entire 40 years of dealing with trauma. She had emergency surgery, because of how much blood she lost. She has a five percent chance of living, and that percentage is dropping.", the doctor says.

(Anna's P.O.V.)

I wake up, and I'm not exactly sure where I'm at, or why I'm here. However, I do know that I'm in a lot of pain. I look over, and see Sean.

"Where am I?", I ask.

"The ICU.", Sean says.

"Why?", I ask.

"That should be the question that I ask you. Instead, I'll go head and answer your question, then ask mine. You tried to commit suicide. But, I don't understand why.", Sean says.

Memories start flooding in of last night.

"Because. I don't belong here. I told you in the note. There's much better girls out there besides me.", I say.

"That may be true, but I'm not interested in them. I love you. You are my world, Anna. I love you so, so, so, much. You don't even know.", Sean says.

"Sean, you're my world, too. And I love you so much, too. It's just that it's hard. I know that you understand, but you until you go through what I had to go through, I'm afraid you won't understand completely. I just hate this cruel world.", I explain.

Sean holds my hand. For some reason, I begin to feel lightheaded and dizzy.

"Sean, is the room spinning?", I ask.

"No. Why?", Sean asks.

"Are you sure?", I ask.

"Yes. Anna, what's going on?", Sean asks.

"I already told you. The room is spinning.", I explain.

"Anna! You're bleeding! Like a lot! On your arm!", Sean exclaims.

I look down at my arm and he's absolutely right.

"WE NEED A NURSE!", Sean screams.

Nurses come running in, and the next thing I know, I'm being taken back for emergency surgery.
