A Fresh Start

Scared and Confused

(Two weeks later)

I wake up and begin to get ready for what will be a normal Saturday. I put a tank top and shorts on, because it's very hot outside. I then go downstairs where Sean is.

"Good morning, beautiful!", Sean greets me and hands me a plate of food.

"Good morning.", I say.

"Do you want to go swimming today?", Sean asks.

Great. The truth is about to come out. I don't actually know how to swim.

"I don't know how to swim.", I explain, embarrassed.

"You can still get in the water, right?", Sean asks.

"Oh yeah. I just don't know how to swim.", I explain.

"Can Caleb swim?", Sean asks.

"Yeah. I never learned, because I was too scared.", I explain.

After breakfast, I go up to my room to look for a swimsuit. I end up finding the one I wore to our anniversary date, and put it on. I find a beach towel and some matching flip flops.

I head downstairs to the pool, and both Caleb are already in the pool, swimming. I get in and the water is quite cold at first.

"It's freezing.", I say, shivering.

"I know. Hey, do you want to jump in? I could catch you!", Sean asks.

"I don't know..", I say.

"Well, do you want me to try and teach you how to swim?", Sean asks.

"Actually, I think I'm going to dip my feet in the pool.", I say.

I get out of the pool and sit down on the edge dipping my feet in.

About two hours later, we get out of the pool and head back inside. I get changed into what I was wearing earlier and see that I have a new text on my phone.

Hey! You probably don't know me, but I'm in your science class! I noticed you don't have a whole lot of friends, and I thought I'd say hey!

I'm not sure if I want to respond or not. I mean, he just wants to be nice and be my friend! I decide not to, because he probably wants to date me or something, but I have Sean.

That evening, after dinner, Caleb isn't feeling well, so he goes to bed quite early. Sean and I decide to watch a movie and I snuggle up to him.

"Hey, I forgot to tell you. A few friends of mine are coming over soon.", Sean says.

"Okay. Hey, babe, could you please do me a big favor?", I ask.

"Anything for you.", Sean says.

"Could you please go get me a blanket?", I ask.

"Of course.", Sean says.

Sean returns about three minutes later with not only my blanket but his friends.

"Thank you, babe.", I say.

Sean sits down next to me and I snuggle up to him again.

"So, is that your girlfriend?", one of the guys asks.

"Yeah.", Sean says.

"She's really pretty.", another guys comments.

"I know. But, she's all mine, so back off.", Sean says.

Then, all three guys stand up and start walking towards me.

Sean wraps his arms around me and I'm beginning to get scared.

"Sean! What are they going to do?", I ask, quite scared.

"Nothing. Don't worry.", Sean says. "I won't let anything happen to you.", Sean says.

They're only getting closer and closer, making me feel uncomfortable.

"Sean, please! I'm getting really scared.", I say, my voice shaking.

I bury my head in Sean's arms when I feel another set of arms around me.

"Get off of her!", Sean yells.

"Don't tell me what to do!", a voice says.

"Babe! What's going to happen?", I ask, scared for life.

"Shh, shh. Just hold on to me.", Sean whispers.

I hold on to Sean, and he picks me up, carrying me away from the guys.

"Please leave.", Sean asks of the guys.

"Don't tell us what to do! Now, give us her and we'll leave you alone!", a voice says.

"I swear if you don't leave right now I will call the cops.", Sean threatens.

"Whatever.", I hear the guys say and leave.

I am quite shaky, and Sean holds me close.

"It's okay! See?", Sean asks.

Sean gently lays me down in bed and I fall asleep almost as soon as my head hits the pillow.

Hey, y'all! I just want to apologize, because I haven't published anything in a long while. Being in the 9th grade makes it hard, because of the amount of homework we have, on top of band, and church, it really makes it hard to write. Anyway, I appreciate y'all reading my books...but don't worry! I have more to come! I love you all!
