You are fidgeting on your toes while watching tv with your dad. Your mother is preparing dinner in the kitchen. You peeking slightly at your father's expression, he is calm as usual.
That night your father initiated to meet Jay, making you flustered. When you called Jay he is surprised and said he feels a little bit scared. You jumped off the couch when Jay text you he has arrived. You flashed to the door, waiting for him. When Jay opened the front door, you barely smile.
"Hey" He pulled his shoes open. He smiling from ear to ear.
"Is it Jay?"Your mother asking.
"Yes eomoni"Jay replied.
You shoved Jay side and he lingers his arm on your shoulder. Your father popped out behind the door, making you startled.
"Hey, u're good?" Your father nodding to him.
"Yes. Annyeonghaseyo abonim. How have you been?"Jay replied
"Alright, come inside"Your father lead you two.
You worried.
"Why are you so calm?"You whispered, Jay linking his hand with you.
"Don't be ridiculous"Jay pecked your forehead, then your father turned his back seeing you two.
He flustered.
"You don't kiss my daughter behind my back alright"Your father warned..
Jay is taken aback, "I'm sorry abeonim"Jay handled it.
You furrowing, clenching your eyes shut cause you're so scared.
"You haven't had dinner right?"Your father asked, lounging on the sofa.
"Yeah abeonim"Jay replied, bowing to your mother who peeked from the kitchen.
"Sit Jay, you get us drink"Your father continued, he insisted you to get drink by glaring at you.
You pouted going to the kitchen.
"So Jay you must be wondering why I called you here, the thing is I recall the time when I said that you can't date my daughter"Your father paused, checking Jay flat expression.
"But since you two insisted to continue the relationship, I don't know what to say" He glared at you when you come back with drinks.
You placed the drink in front of Jay and your father, and sit beside Jay.
"Let me ask you, what makes you insisted to continue this relationship?"
Jay glancing to you, "Well I just love your daughter"
"And you don't think that there's me and her mother on the end of the line?"Your father continued.
"I recognized that of course. She is what she is right now is because of you two. I've loved her as one of yours, and instead of colliding with you two I want to love you two as well since she loves both of her parents"
Your father sighed.
"She always tried to convince me, I am not an easy opponent. She said you're a fighter, survivor. Maybe that's when I changed my mind. Because a fighter doesn't afraid of failure. I'll give you two my blessing. You can date my daughter, but please treat her well" Your father said.
"Dad"You smiling now, about to hug Jay when your mother hit your back.
"You should learn to thank the right person. Go to your father"She glared.
You laughed but running to your father to hug him.
