Red Eyes

Lightning's POV

"Lightning, get your ass up!" Mother Flame yelled, "You have school today!"

I opened my eyes and stared at the white ceiling above me, everything on my body felt sticky and gross. "Ugh..." I groaned and kicked the blankets off, feeling a sudden cold breeze on my skin. "Ahh! It's cold.." I mumbled and laid my feet onto the carpet off my bedroom.

I stood up and rubbed my eyes, then I walked down the long hallway into the kitchen to say good morning to my mother, but no she wasn't there...she was back in bed, snuggling with the cats.

I rolled my eyes and walked back into my bedroom, where I began to look for something to wear. After several minutes, I pulled out a T-shirt and shorts and began to dress myself.

Once I was finished, I stared into the mirror... Jean shorts, big T-shirt, and flats....an outfit for everyday...

"Damn..." I whispered, "My tail is puffier than usual and so is my hair...."

My wolf ears laid back and I sighed deeply and began whimpering like a puppy, "So...so...stupid..." I said and pulled my hair into a quick, messy bun.

I sighed and snapped my fingers as my tail and ears vanished, so students wouldn't become suspicious...

12:30PM

I sat in class, waited for lunch, my stomach growling over and over again; 'I shouldn't have skipped breakfast..' I thought and laid my head on my desk as felt my body get weak.

"Mrs. Lightning?" The teacher called out and I looked up at her, "Yes?" I responded. "Is everything alright?" The teacher asked, "Yes, ma'am... I'm just hungry.." The other students started at me and some giggled, then turned their heads back towards the teacher.

1:30PM

Finally, it was time for lunch and I ran towards my locker and grabbed my lunchbox, then I followed my friends up towards the cafeteria.

I was the first at the lunch table, because I packed of course...and my other friends quickly went through the lunch line, before they started sitting down.

Sky sat down before the others arrived, "Hey, hey, Sky!" I said. She looked over at me and raised a eyebrow, "Where's Fang?!" I asked.
Sky shrugged and took a bite out of her hamburger, "She's still in the line," She said with her mouth full.

The next person to sit down was Candy, the little, yellow fox, who was very hyper and cheerful all the time.

After her, my friends Jay and Sashi sat down...and then finally the last one to sit down was Fang.

"What the fuck took you so long?!" I asked and took one of her fries. "Bitch!" She said and slapped my hand as I began laughing, "And the people are slow..it's not my fault."

I smiled brightly, "Guess what," I said and everyone looked at me with and annoyed expression.

"As you know, it's mating season for the wolf pack! And Lady Fang...will officially be the queen of the northern clan on the island!" I said with a smirk. Fang's face lit up pink and she hit me in the shoulder as I laughed, "Shut up, Lightning!" She shouted.

"Will you guys shut up?!" A girl from the table next to us shouted...oh she was a bitch..the biggest bitch ever... Let's just say...she was one of those girls that made your blood boil for no real reason.

"Fuck you, bitch," Sashi replied to the annoying girl and Jay flipped her off as the rest of us started laughing.

3:45PM

Fang, Sky, and I all walked to our busses, we were all extremely tired and we were ready to go home. "You girls going to the clan tonight?" I asked.

"Yep, I gotta get dress fitted," Fang said, "I'm gonna be y'all's queen!"

"Yeah, I guess so... I gotta get dad to turn on the portal.. Wild animals have been jumping in it and.. Alpha John really doesn't like that.." Sky said softly with her southern accent.

8:25PM

Sky and I sat beside each other on a log, watching a fire. Our ears and tails were finally out...during the day we hid them so the humans couldn't see what we really were...and at night we wouldn't hide them anymore.

My wolf ears stuck straight up and my tail swished back and forth when I heard something in the bushes behind us. I stood up and turned around to looked at what was making the nosies. For a few moments everything was silent....and then all the sudden a bunch of male warriors jumped out of the bushes and I squealed and fell backward.

"THEN SOUTHERN CLAN IS IN OUR TERRITORY!" A man shouted and the loud alarms went off as everyone began to scream and run.

I quickly stood up and grabbed Sky's hand and both of us began to run for our lives....cries and screams could be heard as several young women were being captured and men were being killed.

Sky ran towards her parents and they all went into hiding, at first I ran towards them so I could hide also...but then I heard it...the cries of my sister and the screams of my mother.

I turned my head a growled loudly, darting after the wolves who had a grip of my family.
I jumped and before I could reach them...I was grabbed.

I spotted my father running towards my mother and sister...he killed bother of the men that had them in their grasp, then he grabbed the hands of my mother and sister...then all three of them ran off.

"Wait!" I shouted, hoping my father would come back for me...but all her did was look back, made eye contact with me and then continued to run away with my siblings.

I felt betrayed and heart broken....when all the sudden, Fang darted after the man who had me captive... The man dropped me and I watched Fang fight him...

Fang clawed the man's eyes out and then punched a hole in his chest and ripped out his heart as the man's body tumbled onto the ground.

"Fuck.." I said, "I didn't think you had it in you." Fang raised a eyebrow, "Really," She replied and the both of us began to run.

A few minutes later I heard Fang scream and I looked at her, she was being attacked by another wolf.

I quickly turned around and ran after her, but instead of me saving her... Alpha John saved her and quickly picked her up, "Lightning," He said, "Find your family and hide.. I gotta take care of her wounds."

I nodded and began running once again, until I came upon someone.... A man, stood on a hill above me...we both made eye contact...

His eye's glowed a dark red..his fangs were long and a smirk grew upon his lips.. Long strands of black hair...blew in the wind...my heart almost stopped...

"Shadow?"
