Dressing for the Ball

Lightning's POV

One month later...

It had been a month since I came to the Southern clan... Everything is so different then from the North clan.. Way different..

There were slaves, fights, killings.. Everything was so evil..

I sat up in bed feeling sluggish, I rubbed my eyes and my stomach growled. 'I'm hungry..' I thought to myself as I threw my legs over to the side and stood up.

A tray laid of food laid on the nightstand beside me, "Food..." I said to myself as I grabbed a piece of sausage off the plate.

Oh boy did I love sausage! It was one of the best foods ever!

I took a bite out of the sausage and my eyes widened, "Oh my God.." I said softly, "THIS IS AMAZING!"

I was all of sudden hushed by a man, "Don't be so loud.. Their gonna catch you here and I'm gonna have to pay the price..." Shadow said and sat up.

I smiled softly, "Sorry Shadow.." I whispered, with a light blush on my cheeks from a bit of embarrassment.

Shadow rolled his eyes and got out of the bed, "Your like dealing with a small child," He said, walking towards his dresser.

His hair was a mess, he had bags under his eyes, and he looked sickly.... Something was going on..

"Shadow.." I said as he turned towards me, almost like he knew what I was gonna say, "Are you okay?"

Shadow sighed and shook his head 'no,' and yawned slightly, taking off his white t-shirt. "Not really, but I'll live threw it.. It will go away about tomorrow or so.." he said.

I stood up and walked towards him, definitely much shorter than he was.. He was probably one of the tallest men I had ever seen..

Alphas were always much bigger than regular wolves.. Even the alpha women were a lot bigger than us. Why? Well, they lived a lot longer than regular wolves, and they were built for protecting.. The alpha females and males were also built for each other.. It was rare a alpha would become mates with a regular wolf, it happened don't get me wrong.. But if a regular female is weak.. She could be killed by accident during the matting process with her alpha male.

I played with his hair and grabbed a brush, then I started brushing his hair out for him.
Shadow smiled lightly, "Lightning, I'm going out to a special ball tonight.. I would bring you if I could.. But I can't, so your gonna stay here, okay?" I nodded as a response.

Shadow looked away and walked away from me then, walked towards the door... Leaving and shutting it behind him..

4:37PM

I stared out the window bored as heck when the door opened, the noise startled me as I quickly looked over. It was Shadow.

He walked towards his closet, looking at different clothes, "Hey.. Lightning.." He said and turned to me. "Yes?" I quickly responded; "Um.. What should I wear?" Shadow asked and began to walk towards his closet and looked inside.

"Well, because it's a ball.. I'd say wear this," I grabbed a outfit and pulled it out. It was a formal black suit, "You'd look fine in this!" I said.
