i cling tightly to my knees, allowing the cold water to fill the empty space around me. usually if the water was this cold, i'd turn it to warm, but today is different.

today is different from any other days, simply because it is the last day. the last day i will allow to slip by, living with myself after Ellis has gone. the last day i will fight the demons in my head, by morning they will win. the last day i can say, music has saved me. because if i said that, it wouldn't be true. now who likes someone untruthful? i know Ellis didn't.

Pierce the Veils 'Hold On Til May' plays over my speaker, the water filling at just the right time. i slide my legs straight out infront of me, then plunge under.

Tyler's P.O.V
i walk down the hallway, phone to my ear talking excitedly to Josh about our first gig.
"Dude i know! The Basement is going to be so sick!" i say, hearing him laugh but pause.
"yeah dude i know! and- hey i didn't know you liked PTV!," he exclaims over the phone. i sigh, "i don't. seems the apartment next to me is being a tad too loud, i'll be right back."
i hang up the phone and knock on the door.
with one forceful knock it creeks open, showing an empty dark apartment, a speck of light catches my eye.
i follow the music to the bathroom, opening the door, revealing a pale blond-haired girl plunged underwater.
"No!"
i scream, throwing her loud speaker down the hall and pulling her from the water, dragging her on the ground.
she gasps, then chokes out some water.
she then begins to cry, slowly at first but then hysterically.
she looks up at me, her light blue eyes making full contact with mine.
"why would you save me?"
she asks, coughing up more water from her lungs.
"because you're lovely, and worth saving"

here's the first chapter of the new book! ik it's probably not the best but that's the first chapter.
Once i get more into the story i'll go more into detail about the backstory of the main character.
