"Alright, now how are there of these things?" Bruce asked Trisha as he held up a small sign. She wrote down on her clipboard before showing it to him.
Two tomatoes.
"Good. Your memory seems to be okay. One more just to finish this up." Bruce said, switching the signs and holding up one. Trisha stared at it, counting the fruit on it.
1, 2,3,4,5...
6 cherries.
She froze, staring at the sign as he mind flashed back to the memory. Bruce frowned and turned it around, counting them before putting it down.
He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder, making her jump out of her frozen state. "Do you need a break?" He asked quietly. Trisha nodded and he allowed her to get up and leave.
Trisha walked to her room and locked the door behind her as she exhaled shakily and slunk down against the door, staring out the one wall made out of all glass to see the view.
She sighed, all of the bad memories coming back to her, making her want to shrink into a corner or darkness and never return...
But she pushed herself up off the ground, trying her best to ignore the memories as she walked over to the desk in her room, sitting down and grabbing some paper and a pencil and began doodling.
She began drawing Steve, trying to remember every detail of his face from the other day as he cracked a joke to make Trisha smile, which it worked.
Her mind drifted to her own task at hand, going away from the bad thoughts before after awhile, a knock on her door made her snap out of her thoughts.
She hide the drawing in her drawn before hitting her desk twice softly to indicate whoever it was to come in. She spun around in the spinny chair to see a red haired woman enter the room.
Trisha frowned, thinking it would've been Steve to see her. "Hi. I'm Agent Natasha Romanoff, but my friends call me Nat. Bruce sent me in here to check on you while he patched up Steve after her came back from training. One of the machines malfunctioned and his shield ended up being launched at him and he got knocked out cold." Nat chuckled.
"Don't tell anyone, but I found it kind of funny." Nat whispered to her as she sat down on the edge of Trisha's bed. Trisha cracked a smile. "Bruce wanted me to make sure you were okay, he told me what happened. Want to talk about it?" Nat asked. Trisha grabbed another piece of paper and wrote on it 'I'm alright now, thank you for checking.' And showed it to the red haired agent.
"Alright. I'll tell him that. Steve will be out for a little while more. He woke up an hour after it happened and had a nasty headache and bruise, so he fell back asleep but I'll make sure he comes by to check on you tomorrow or the following day." Nat said, standing up.
Trisha held up her hand to tell her to hold on while she wrote something down quickly before showing it.
'Steve talked about you, he said you were really pretty, and I agree.'
Trisha smiled as Nat read it before smiling slightly with an eye roll. "Thanks. He's such a gentlemen, one that loves to gas me up. Well, I'll see you around." Nat said before walking out of the room, closing the door behind her, leaving Trisha to wonder how many others she'd have to meet.
