"I thought you weren't coming back." He cried out as he ran his fingers through my hair, his eyes not leaving mine.
"Ethan I'm... I'm so confused. I didn't think you cared about me." I said honestly, my heart breaking a little thinking about what had happened between us. He didn't say anything, he only looked away.
"Ethan." I whispered as I gently placed my hand under his chin and moved his head to look me in the eyes again.
"I..I was scared."
His voice was low and soft, his words coming out slow.
"I made a huge mistake, but I only did it because..."
"Because what Ethan?" I asked softly as I traced my finger along his jawline.
"I don't want to ruin anything." He said sheepishly.

I was confused, ruin anything?

He wouldn't finish.
"Ethan, please you can tell me." I said honestly.
"No. It will ruin everything." He said as he looked away.
