On Tuesday morning, I wake up with my fingers entangled with Mare's, our arms stretched towards each other, and her chest slowly rising with her even breath. I try not to wake her up as I slowly take my hand back to get up. I resist the urge to kiss her forehead, once again because I don't want to wake her up.

I tiptoe to the bathroom and quickly shower. When I come out, a towel wrapped around my waist, I find Mare sitting cross-legged on the bed, looking sleepy.

" Hello there, " I whisper as I walk up to her and kiss her cheek.

She captures my head in her hands and kisses me. That's one way of waking up that I don't mind.

As she climbs out of bed - she's so sleepy I'm scared she'll fall - I go to my wardrobe to fish out some clothes. She wraps her arms around me.

" Why are you always running away? " she moans, and I chuckle. She's not usually that clingy.

" You need more sleep, Mare, " I tell her as I kiss her hand.

" No, I don't. I need more of you... " she replies, her voice thick with sleep.

" Let me just slip on some clothes, sweetheart, " I answer with a smile.

She absently nods and sits back on the bed. When I'm done, I go sit beside her and she rests her head on my shoulder as I envelop her in my arms and bring her closer. She brings her lips inches from mine.

" How did we resist for so long? " she mutters with her eyes half closed.

" No idea, " I breathe.

And I kiss her.

Sparks fly around us, burning majestically, and it takes me a few seconds to realize actual purple lightning is fizzling across my room, and actual fire is burning my bed. I don't really care. But it seems Mare does.

" We need to calm down, " she says, and she extinguishes the lightning with a flick of her wrist. I make the fire disappear too.

I make to climb out of bed, but she stops me with an arm.

" I never said we had to stop. "

I see a playful grin tugging at her lips. If that's how it's gonna be, I'm willing to play along. My fingers slowly climb along her back and find a way in the back of her neck, and I pull her in closer to me, closer, closer, closer... until not only are lips are touching but our whole faces and our whole front, and it's like we're glued together.

Suddenly a big 'BANG' resonates through the air, and we pull away hastily. I look around, on edge, and walk to the window. Nothing seems to have moved. Dread grows through me slowly, and I walk as though the floor was made of glass, towards my door. I open it cautiously, and walk out in the same fashion. There seems to be nobody moving at all, not a single sound but my own ragged breath. My breathing slowly calms, and I take a step back, back to my room. Everybody must simply still be sleeping. Right. Every single person in this castle, asleep. At 9AM. Maybe they're all really tired. Maybe there was a big party yesterday night and I forgot. They all went to sleep very late afterwards. That must be it. Totally makes sense.

Mare softly puts her hand on my shoulder, and I realize the air is getting very humid because of the heat I'm projecting. I try to calm it down. I think I succeed.

" What's wrong? " Mare asks, her voice so low I can barely hear it.

" I don't know. And that's exactly why it's driving me crazy, " I reply, barely moving my lips, my voice a hoarse whisper.

She squeezes my shoulder a little bit, and an instant later, we hear another 'BANG', louder than the other one. Then the hallway explodes completely without a sound.

And everything

goes black.

Author's Note: I know it's been a long time - ok it's been an eternity - since I last posted a chapter, but I hope this one makes it up! Also, it would really mean a lot if you checked out my other book, it's a series of oneshots set in the Harry Potter universe, I've got two posted now, and they're much longer than any chapters I post on here, so it's a little story every time. Anyway, if you like Harry Potter I'd love if you went to read it! Thank you if you do, and thank you for reading this far!

Lots of love!
