Discovery:

Estimated to be born around 3,985 BBY, Ashabellanar Freedon Tavers was discovered on the war-torn planet of Murkhana in the Outer Rim at the approximate age of 6 by Master Kavar and Master Kae. According to their reports she was found in the midst of combat when Master Kae suddenly sensed what he believed to be a Padawan in trouble nearby. Upon going to the Padawan's aid, Master Kae and Kavar were surprised to discover a small robed child of no more than six concealed nearby a recently fallen Jedi and Sith, presumably one being her Master. Unsure how she managed to survive so close to their battle, or why Master Kae had sensed her as a Padawan, Master Kavar approached the girl to offer her his help. Sensing his arrival, the mysterious girl caught him off guard by summoning a nearby lightsaber to her and brandishing it towards him. Surprised by the action, Master Kavar halted his approach only to have the girl declare that only a fool would step away from battle, Jedi. At this declaration her ties to the Sith were proven and Master Kae revealed himself. Together, Kavar and Kae immediately subdued the Sith Apprentice and took what appeared to be her belongings and her to into custody.

According to Master Kavar, it was on their return trip to Coruscant, after several weeks of discovering her, that they were finally able to gain a portion of her trust. Learning that her name was Ashabellanar and that she was the Apprentice of Lord Distain who they had found dead on Murkhana. She also revealed to them that she had turned six just days before the war had started. Two days later, she finally allowed them to see what she called 'her important treasure', which she kept hidden in the bag she was rescued with. To the surprise of both, her 'hidden treasure' turned out to be a rare double-bladed lightsaber that appeared to be broken and a set of traditional looking Jedi robes that suddenly changed from their traditional color to white when touched by Ashabellanar. Upon arriving in Coruscant these items were given to the Jedi Council. It was later determined that these items had originally belonged to the fallen Jedi Knight and had somehow ended up in the hands of this child. To protect Ashabellanar who had already been deemed touched by the force and a possible Sith, from their dark influence the Council immediately separated the items from her and sent her to a Jedi Academy for training.

Training Report:

At the young age of seven Tavers's talent for the Force was considered to be greater than most her age. Master Zhar stated, "That she was quite skilled with a blade and that he could sense she was somehow different from the others." After much debate within the Council it was decided Master Kae would take her as his Padawan. During her time under Master Kae's tutelage Taver's abilities increased at such a tremendous rate it was deemed after two years that Master Kae had nothing left to teacher her. Taking her age into consideration the Council deemed she should be given another Master.

By fourteen, Tavers had studied with two additional Masters moving to her final Master, Master Kavar. During her time with Kavar she began going on many diplomatic missions and became increasingly well known for her vast intelligence and unparalleled beauty resulting in the Onderon incident.

At sixteen years of age the Council deemed Tavers a risk for further political and diplomatic missions and she was ordered to complete her training at the Dantooine Enclave. According to the Masters present at the time on Dantooine Tavers was reacquainted with Jedi Knights Jax and Alek one year later just before she was taken captive by Mandalorians. Jedi Knight Jax, who trained extensively with Tavers as a youngling volunteered with the Council's approval to retrieve Tavers. See: Mandalorian Threat upon Dantooine report.

Personality:

Vibrant and outgoing as a youngling Tavers became reclusive and detached. Psychological trauma received during the Onderon incident lead to this behavior as well as reoccurring nightmares and haphephobia. Improvements over time were noted by Master Zhar and Master Kavar and it was deemed at the age of seventeen she would receive her Knighthood.

Suspected Death:

3,968 BBH Jedi Knight Ashabellanar Tavers was severely injured on Dantooine while in the company of Master Zhar. They were attacked by the Mandalorians who had taken her hostage months before resulting in her death and the injury of Master Zhar. It is assumed by the wounds Master Zhar saw her receive that she is dead but her body was taken by the time fellow Jedi arrived at the scene.

Restricted Information:

Ashabellanar Tavers is believed to have entered the Ancient Sith Temple upon Dantooine during her Mandalorian internment. It is also believed given her closeness with Jedi Knight Revan that she is the one who provided him and Jedi Knight Alek access to it.

According to Masters Vook and Atris, Revan became obsessed with Tavers during his bid to free her from the Mandalorians and it is suspected a non-plutonic relationship between them may have occurred, resulting Master Kreia's order that he and Alek return to Coruscant.

Upon her death, Jedi Knight Jax later known as Revan, was witnessed to have screamed out in pain and passed out amidst a youngling lesion he was teaching. It is believed given his close ties to Jedi Knight Tavers he felt her death within the Force.

In retrospect, the High Council believes this connection to Tavers and her suspected death at the hands of Mandalorians is what lead to his impetuous decision to rally the younger Jedi Knights and Padawans to the aid of the Republic against the wishes of the Jedi Council. Thus, leading to his fall to the Darkside.
