Chapter 12

Dantooine, Talum's Farm

One month and two weeks after Jax's return

Admiring your hair the next morning, you had to admit that though he seemed rusty, Jax still had skill manipulating items with the Force. "A Mandalorian skull?" You question realizing its shape with the help of an additional mirror. Meeting your gaze Jax shrugs from the bed where he still rests.

"It seemed fitting considering our situation."

"Yes, I suppose it does," you reply as a hint of a smile passes your lips. "Thank you, Jax," you add gaining a nod in response.

"Are you really going to go back?" He inquires moments later as he stands.

"Yes, I promised."

"The arrangement was a lie to get you to agree to be spirited. You realize that, right?"

Sighing you nod. "I do, but I must protect the farmers and as Ferox said we need to know why they are here. These Mandalorians are far from home and..." You pause not sure if you should reveal the vision you had.

Studying your face Jax immediately comes to your side. "What did you see Asha?" He softly questions, knowing from years of studying you, your tells, no doubt.

"I'm not sure yet but, war...I think." You whisper back causing him to tense.

"When?"

You shake your head. "I don't know . I was interrupted. It was fragmented and moved in such a blur too. But..."

"Yes," he pushes.

"You were always a constant."

"You saw me?" He grimly replies and you nod in return.

"Yes, always you were with me. There were others, Meetra, for instance."

"Other Jedi," he purposely questions.

"Yes, the younger ones." You reply, realizing the significance of seeing no Masters. "Knights like you and Padawans like myself. They will follow us. Come when we call."

"Follow us where?"

"To...," You shake your head as a familiar pressure begins to build in your head.

"You're in pain," Jax declares, sensing your distress.

"It's nothing," you evasively reply having had episodes of this in the past, always when you felt you were on the cusp of remembering something. "There were so many Jax, sometimes I swear I can almost recall but." You cringe again from the pain.

"Enough Asha," Jax commands as he unexpectedly grabs your shoulders.

"No," you breathlessly state. "It's important. They're distant like from where I came... farther perhaps. Some were even in space." You recount swaying lightly on your feet.

"Asha enough!" Jax again commands and this time you heed him.

Resting for several hours at Jax's request you finally bid Talum and his family goodbye. "I wish you'd think this through girl and stay. Jax and the others are good, but you're dealing with Mandalorians." Talum warns.

"I know," you reply with a smile.

"I'm not letting her do this alone," Jax declares near the door, now armed with his Mandalorian style weapons. "And neither will Ferox and Alek. We'll be keeping continuous tabs on them." Turning, you eye Jax in surprise.
