Chapter 1

In the year 4,003 BBH

Dantooine, City of Khoonda

Stepping off the ship, two young figures dressed in Jedi Knight robes emerge into view. A tall strapping one with wild black hair that hangs into his dark gray eyes and partially obscures his clean-cut face greedily stretches, grateful to be out of their shuttle. His somewhat shorter companion, also in his late teens or early twenties follows suit. Each is unique in their look. The taller being handsomely attractive yet arcane in his appearance while his companion is pale and bald with a pale blue tattoo across his face.

"We haven't been here since we were Padawan," Jax comments, eyeing the small farming community of Dantooine.

"It's been over four years," his companion remarks.

"That it has, Alek." Smirking lightly at something he finds amusing, Jax casts an almost mischievous look towards Alek, "Do you think I'll get some real sparing in again with my 'partner'?"

Shaking his head lightly at the comment Alek sighs, his attention kept on the people and scenery around them. "Peace, Jax." Faintly frowning, Jax's mirth vanishes. "Besides," Alek continues, "It has been over four years and Master Kavar has taken a seat within the High counsel. Being his Padawan, the one you speak of will have no doubt returned to Coruscant.

"You underestimate her. Tavers by now has moved on to another Master," Jax confidently remarks as they begin making their way towards the Jedi Enclave.

"And you give her too much credit, not everyone requires Masters like you." At this Jax lightly smirks. "She is several years our junior, Jax," Alek solemnly continues, "Even with her talent, the Counsel would not make her a Knight at..."

"She's seventeen," Jax interjects, masking his irritation to near perfection. "And Master Kavar was her third Master when we were here last. Even Master Vrook could not deny her strong connection to the Force, nor her skill with a Lightsaber. You know as well as I that she may very well be a Knight."

"Jax... you may have passed the trials at barely sixteen, but you know as well as I that the Counsel does not normally allow one to take them at such an age."

Stopping, Jax turns and faces his friend. "And no one's ever managed to get close to my skill or Force affinity save Tavers, you know that," he exasperatedly replies in a hushed tone.

"Don't let others hear you say such things," Alek calmly comments eyeing their surroundings. "They will say that..."

"I've grown proud and headstrong, yes," Jax hisses back. "I'm well aware of..."

"Lady Bellanar! Lady Bellanar wait!" Someone urgently shouts, drawing both Jedi's attentions to the unusually crowded outer courtyard. Touching his friend's shoulder, Jax directs his attention to towards several people chasing after a fleeing figure near the southern entrance leading toward the plains. A figure unusually dressed, given the fact that Jax could just glimpse their form fitted battle vestments breaking through their unmistakably pale Jedi robes.

By instinct Jax takes off in their direction, drawn both his concern and intrigue. Moving quickly, he presses through the crowd but only manages to catch those calling to the figure and not their target, who appears to somehow have vanished from sight. "Why do you chase that Jedi? Have they done something to offend you?" He coolly demands appearing behind three figures. Turning around, the teenage boys pull back slightly at his menacing appearance.
