Broken pieces of a barely beating heart on the floor
Shattered red fractles
Of the jewel that once was
Of a diamond so strong
You thought it couldn't break
Even if the hammer hit it
It would stay in one piece
But when the hammer hit
The jem became weak
And as it kept pounding
The shine began to fill
And then the surface cracked
But the hammer didn't stop
It didn't show mercy
It didn't shed a tear
It barely even talked
The metal was so cold
Against this bright diamond
Now too afraid to glow
Not a shimmer not a sparkle
Only dirt and grime and dust
As the strong interior burst
Sending shards across the floor
Now the jem is broken
The wound was cut too deep
There's no such thing as scars
When you have a broken heart
