***FRANKIE'S POV***
"It's nine o'clock!" I yelled over gossip. "Turn the radio on."
Alex turned on the radio and, sure enough, Red's voice rang out.
"Hello hello it's your buddy Red here with a little bit of attitude for you tonight," he said. "Before I get started here I want to talk about, uh, authority. The man, if you will. Everyone's got one; the man who tells you no, brings you down. The adults around here like to use their adult status to push around the rest of us. We ain't doing anything wrong though, huh?!" his voice grew louder. "You know what, tell the man to shove it up his fuckin' ass."
Red's voice grew louder and louder as he continued to speak.
"Remind the man that it is indeed a sin to kill a mockingbird. They make us read the damn thing, but they don't even understand it! Tell the man to fuck himself." he began yelling. "Tell the man no more Mr. Nice Guy!" he screamed, and the girls and I sat around the radio chanting.
"Woo!" Red cheered. "I feel good!"
Loud, heavy rock blew through the radio speakers, and the girls and I shot up.
"Fuck the man!" Alex yelled.
"Hoo! Hoo! Hoo! Hoo!" we all chanted like guys at a football game.
While jamming out to the music, I stopped and thought for a second about what Red had said.
"It's indeed a sin to kill a mockingbird," I thought. "To Kill a Mockingbird."
"I think I know who it is," I exclaimed suddenly, and everyone stopped.
"What do you mean, you think?" Heather Duke asked.
"Something he said was just... Awfully familiar," I said quietly.
"Well, who do you think it is?" my sister asked, and I shook my head.
"I don't want to say anything until I'm sure," I reasoned. "I'll find out tomorrow, hopefully."
"Well, in the meantime," Veronica interrupted, "look what I brought."
She held up her copy of Grease Two, and we all cheered.
"That movie is so cheesy," Heather McNamara laughed.
"That's why it's good!" Veronica and Alex said together.
"I'll go make popcorn," my sister offered, standing up and going downstairs.
We were all in Heather's room, as mine was smaller and didn't have a TV. It was girls night, even though there was school tomorrow. We all agreed that we needed it, so that's exactly what we did. All six of us in our pajamas sat randomly around Heather's room, with the exception of Alex and Veronica, who cuddled together against a pillow.
"You two are gross," I mumbled.
"You're just jealous," Alex retorted, and we chuckled.
"Yeah, Frankie," Veronica piped in. "You've been single for how long?"
"I've been single a long time for a reason, and you all know that," I chuckled, trying to avoid talking about the situation.
"We know," Heather M said sympathetically. "But you are a pretty girl. I'm sure a nice guy would be interested."
"That's the issue," I laughed. "We're talking about Westerburg guys, here."
"Maybe you can figure out who Red is and date him," Heather Duke laughed, and the rest of us joined in.
"If he was cute, maybe," I chuckled, and then my sister returned with the popcorn.
"You guys ready to watch this cheesy ass love story?" she asked, and we all cheered.
"Put it on!" Alex yelled, and the movie began.Halfway into Grease Two, all six of us were singing along.
"We're gonna score score score score scoooore; tonight!" we all sang, laughing and throwing popcorn at each other.
"You're totally a Stephanie," Veronica said to me, and I shook my head.
"Am not," I laughed, but everyone disagreed.
"No," my sister said, "you are absolutely a Stephanie."
"Whatever," I muttered, smiling slightly. "When am I gonna find my cool rider, then, huh?"
The girls laughed, and I threw popcorn kernels at them.Meanwhile at J.D's
