"Don't Be Afraid, I feel it too."
–Kylo Ren_________
It was more than a fight between Kylo Ren and Rey. It was a fight between two strong force users, both engulfed in rage and pain.
Kylo Ren was however in pain, for having to kill Han Solo moments before; assuming it would give him strength. He was fighting this girl, who had only just begun to accept the force. She was supposed to be just a scavenger. A nobody. Yet here she was, wielding the blue lightsaber as if it was hers to begin with. In this moment, he instantly felt something he thought he'd never feel for an enemy.
Admiration.
But even so, she was still his enemy and he still had his orders. He was going to bring Rey to the Supreme Ruler, Snoke.
He had to. Not for Snoke though, but for himself. Kylo Ren was curious, as to why he felt this admiration for a girl he only just met. He couldn't understand it just yet, but he also felt something he knew he shouldn't feel.
Compassion.
And with that, he didn't want to hurt her. But he knew he had to if he was going to win this fight. Then he did, as his saber clashed against hers, forcing her to retreat a step backwards. He quickly summoned the force, raising his hand and she suddenly flew back.
Rey landed hard on the ground, the impact knocking the air out of her lungs, unleashing the dizziness from her previous knock out. In her remerging concussion, the lightsaber fallen from her grip and she lost it in the snow. She tried to look for it but saw it too late, as Kylo Ren now stood before her with his red saber only inches from her neck. She let out a light gasp, as she swallowed anxiously.
Is this it? She wondered. Is this when I die?
"I don't want to kill you," Kylo Ren, breathed heavily. "But if you move. I will." Using the force he picked up the lightsaber, now in his left hand.
Both of their eyes met, while Rey glared and Kylo Ren only stared. Then he spoke, "I'm going to teach you the ways of the force–one way or another...You will join the dark side."
"Never," said Rey, in defiance.
"We shall see..."
__________
"Never," Rey gasped, as she woke in her cell. She was covered in a cold sweat, trembling in fear. She wiped her face as tears rushed down her cheeks. It was always the same memory, that repeated over and over again in her dreams. The fight she should've won. She hugged herself, as she was always cold in this small box of a cell. She felt as though she was on Jakku again, alone, afraid and desperate to sleep. But in comparison, she'd give anything to trade this small box for that desert planet. At least there, she was free to walk around and do what she wanted. She squeezed her eyes shut, as she began to cry and buried her face in her arms. "I want to go home."
