So guys, here's the first chapter of my new story Run Free And Wild.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walking through the woods on a dark night might seem like a bad idea but I feel free walking through the woods; more so in the dark. There is just something so mysterious and enchanting about the woods at night. It comes alive with a new abundance of creatures; ones you never see or knew lived in the woods near your home.
Turning off my music I pulled out my earphones and listened to the sounds of the night around me. I sighed in content and walked slowly back home.The sound of footsteps nearby alerted me to someone's presence. I stopped and listened to the footsteps. Closer. Closer. I started walking again; noticing now how silent the trees were. Even the birds had quietened: signalling that danger was nearby.
I picked up my pace and began jogging home. The footsteps got closer and closer.
I started running.
I ran through the forest, emerging near my home; streetlights guiding me down the road. I ran down the street towards my front door. I jumped up the steps and, pulling out my keys I fumbled with the lock until I managed to open the door. I pried open the door, slamming it shut behind me and slouching against the wood. I sighed in relief, now in the safety of my own home.I shrugged off my coat, hung it on a peg and walked into the kitchen.
"You're home late Aleks. What kept you?" my mother asked.
"I was at the library working on a project for biology," I answered.
"Well at least you're home now, dinner will be ready shortly."
"I'll be up in my room working on my project some more," I replied.
"I'll call you down when dinner is ready then," my mother said, turning back to the pot on the stove.
I walked up to my room, turning my light on and dumping my bag on the floor. I got out of my uniform and changed into a pair of jeans and a band t-shirt. I sat down at my desk turned my laptop on and plugged my earphones in.
I opened my project and began researching my topic. I turned up my music and started singing along quietly.After about half an hour my mother called me down for dinner. I descended the stairs and entered the kitchen.
"What's for dinner?" I asked as I sat at the table.
"Your favourite: venison casserole." I tucked into my food, enjoying the delicious taste of the juicy meat. Once we had finished dinner I cleared the table and did the washing up. I then walked into the living room and joined my mum on the sofa.
"Did you have a good day at school?" she asked.
"Yep."
"Anything interesting happen?"
"Not really, same old, same old," I replied.
We watched TV until about ten o'clock when I took myself to bed. I brushed my teeth and got into my pyjamas then climbed into bed.~*~*~*~
I awoke the next morning and got ready for school, throwing on my uniform and going down stairs for breakfast. I helped myself to a bowl of Cheerios before going back upstairs and brushing my teeth. I pulled my hair up into a ponytail and went back downstairs.
"Bye mum, I'll see ya tonight!" I yelled as I opened the front door, scooping up my bag as I left.I walked down the street, away from the woods and towards my school: McCullough High. The school was about a ten minute walk from my house, so, as usual I was there early. I made my way to my reg class sitting down at the back. I kept my head down whilst other pupils filed into the classroom. I raised my head just as he walked into the classroom.
Him being Wolfgang: the most popular guy in school. Standing at over 6 ft 6" he was also the tallest. He had shoulder length messy brown hair: a sort of bed-head style; deep green eyes, two snake-bites in his bottom lip on the left side, a nose ring and was covered in tattoos, much to the teachers' distaste. Seriously, if you saw him in P.E you'd know what I mean; he had sleeves on both arms going from his shoulders to his wrists, a couple on his hands and knuckles. He played rugby for the school team, winning every match he played, making him the greatest player in the history of the school... So I was told. He was very muscular, but not so much that it was gross. He was also nominated as the hottest guy in school. You can certainly see why he won it. Did I mention that I have a crush on him? No? Well now you know.
