I opened my eyes and blinked a few times to adjust them to the sunlight. I sat straight on my bed and rubbed my eyes with the back of my hands. Yesterday’s events played in my mind and I smiled.
"Annabeth, wait. D-Don't go! Don't leave me!"
"Promise me you'll never leave me too, Annabeth."
Harry’s words played continuously in my mind. I stared at my reflection in the mirror and noticed a wide smile on my face. Did I sleep with that smile on my face? What is wrong with me? Harry.
I still can’t believe out of all people Harry chooses to show up at my door. Does that mean I’m special or something? I need to add that question to the list of questions in my mind.
Now here I am standing in front of my mirror and in the room of my dead sister across mine is Harry sleeping. But is he really sleeping or is he awake? Did he sleep well or didn’t he sleep at all? Jeez, Annabeth! I must chillax!
I checked my wall clock and found the time seven in the morning. If Harry’s still sleeping I won’t wake him and just leave him a note saying I’ll be at work. I also have plans with the girls today; we’re going shopping for dresses. How awesome is that? I never in my life went to any school dance at all. You know, the old Annabeth never went or participated in any school activity except the Science Club. I’m still participating in it, though, but I’m different.
I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower, brushed my teeth and shaved. I felt a lot fresher after stepping out of the bathroom. I opened my bedroom door and headed for the kitchen. I almost jumped when I saw someone standing in front of the stove, but quickly realized that it was just Harry. Wow, he’s up early.
“Morning.” He greeted when he turned and saw me. I smiled before standing beside him.
“Morning, what are you doin’?” I stared at him then to the stove and found him making pancakes.
“I’m making us some breakfast. I hope you don’t mind me evading your kitchen!” He said and I chuckled, patting his shoulder. I took a seat on the counter.
“I absolutely don’t. Especially when you’re making me breakfast for free.” I responded. The way he said us sent shivers down my spine, but I hid it.
He smiled at me and placed my plate of pancakes in front of me. I inhaled its smile and smiled, noticing the other options placed in front of me too; bacon, scrambled eggs, coffee and French toast. I grinned like a maniac.
“Wow, you really know how to cook.” I complimented and he lifted his head up.
“Of course!” He proudly said which caused me to roll my eyes then chuckle.
I took the chocolate syrup and poured it over my pancakes then started eating them. I was starving, to be honest, I always am, but today the smell of the food starved me even more.
The food tasted delicious. I praised Harry for his great job and he praised himself too in a playful way.
“Please! It’s not like you’re the only one who can make good breakfast.” I said, rolling my eyes as I stood up and rinsed the dishes before placing them in the dishwasher.
“Admit it, Anne! I am the best cook you’ve ever seen!” I laughed.
“Oh hell no! Philip is the best cook ever!” I said and watched as curiosity swept all over Harry.
“Who’s Philip? Your ex?” I almost choked on my non existent drink.
“My ex? ‘Course not! Philip is the baker at the bakery I work in, however he cooks like a professional Italian chef!” I smiled as I remembered how delicious Philip’s cooking is. Stop thinking about his steak, you don’t want to drool in front of Harry! I mentally reminded myself.
