3 Weeks Later..
Taylor's POV:
It's been a little over 3 weeks since the accident. Ava got to come home from the hospital, and everyday, I just cuddle with her. It makes me so happy, holding my baby.
I woke up in Gray's arms, right where I want to be. I kissed his cheek, and left tiny kisses along his jaw and chin. His eyes slowly opened, and as soon as his eyes fixed on me, his lips pulled into a smile.
"Hi" I said smiling.
"Hey" He smirked.
I grabbed my phone, to look at the time. 10:37. All of the sudden, my phone buzzed, an incoming call. On the screen, it said: Mommy💕. It was my mom. She was calling me. That surprised me. She hasn't talked to me since Ava was born, a couple weeks ago.
"Hello?" I answered.
"Hi, Taylor" she responded.
"I'm surprised you're talking to me," I said sarcastically.
"Well, I thought about your child. I decided that if you want to live your life that way, so be it. I'll respect that. I just don't want to be guilt-tripped into babysitting your child, or doing your responsibilities."
"Thanks, Mom" I smiled.
I looked over at Gray, smiling at me.
"Mom? Do you wanna come over to meet Ava?" I asked hopefully.
"Of course, honey. I'll be over in a few minutes, okay?"
"Sure, see you soon" I said, and she hung up.
I went into Ava's room, which we decorated Grayson's guest room into a nursery. I picked her tiny body up, and held her close to my chest.
"Hi baby" I said soothingly.
She looked up at me, and smiled. I brought her downstairs to feed her, and heated up a bottle. I fed her on the couch, holding her close in my arms. Gray came down the stairs, still shirtless, and sat down next to me, looking at Ava.
"She's so beautiful" he whispered.
"I know," I replied, "how did she come out of me?" I laughed.
"Don't say that, you're gorgeous babe" Gray said.
He kissed me lightly on my forehead, and then there was a knock on the door. Gray stood up to get it, and my mother hugged him, and then came over to hug me. After hugging me, saying "I'm sorry" a million times, I gave Ava to her.
"Oh my goodness, she's beautiful" she smiled.
"That's what we say" Gray laughed.
My mother held Ava forever, she didn't want to let her go. I smiled at how much she loved a baby, who just a couple days ago, she didn't want anything to do with.
"I'm glad you and Gray are happy" My mother finally said, when I took Ava from her to bring her upstairs for a nap.
"We are happy, definitely" I heard Gray answer, as I walked up the stairs.
I reached Ava's room, and put her down gently in her bed, and kissed her forehead.
"Goodnight baby" I whispered, walking out of the room.
Grayson's POV:
Taylor's mom was talking to me, and to be honest, I was still a bit hesitant, since I'm not sure why her perspective would change so quickly about Ava, and me in general.
"So, Grayson, how are you since the accident?" she asked.
"I'm good, uh, yeah, I'm good" I said nervously.
I don't know what, but something is off about Ms. Davis. She knows something that Taylor and I don't.
Taylor came down the stairs, and as soon as I saw her, I said,
"Um.. Tay, can we talk, in the kitchen?"
"Sure, Gray" she walked into the kitchen.
I pulled her close by her arm.
"There's something.. not right here. Your mom is acting weird. She wasn't like this when I first met her. She knows something that we don't, Taylor. I'm scared for our safety, and for Ava's." I said seriously.
"Gray, stop. Its my mom for Christ's sake. She wouldn't do anything to hurt me, or you, or Ava, I promise."
"Okay," I sighed.
Maybe she's right. Maybe I'm just overreacting.
We walked together back into the living room, but Sharon wasn't there. Then I heard Ava.
I ran up the stairs, with Taylor following behind me, and barged into Ava's nursery. Taylor's mother stood over Ava's bed, holding her.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING WITH MY DAUGHTER" I yelled.
She turned around, startled, and smiled creepily at me.
"YOU CAN'T TAKE CARE OF HER!! SHE NEEDS ME!!" she screamed.
Taylor barged into the room as well.
"MOM?! PUT HER DOWN RIGHT NOW!!"
"I KNEW YOU WERE UP TO SOMETHING, YOU BITCH!" I yelled at her.
"Oh, Grayson. You're just a silly teenager. You kids can't take care of a newborn. I can. I've had experience. Give her to me. "
"NO. SHE NEEDS HER PARENTS, NOT HER FUCKING GRANDMOTHER" I screamed.
"Oh, Grayson. Don't cuss around the baby. You see what I mean, Taylor?" she looked at her daughter for approval.
"Mom, you're sick. You're mentally ill. Step away from my child, put her down." Taylor said quietly.
"Sure, honey" Her mother said, dropping Ava from her hands, onto the floor.
"NO" I yelled, and tried to catch her, but I couldn't.
Her head collided with the hard-wood floor, and her head split open, blood gushing out of her forehead.
"WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO THAT FOR?!" I screamed at Sharon.
"If I can't have her, you can't have her either. " Sharon smiled.
"Taylor, call 911" I said, my breathing quickening by the second, as I held my baby girl in my arms.
"GET OUT OF HERE" I yelled at Taylor's mom.
She smiled, stepping out of the room.
Taylor came back after a few minutes. I had taken off my shirt to try to stop the bleeding.
"The ambulance will be here soon" Taylor said, crying.
Hurry up, I can't lose my daughter. Not now. Not ever.To be continued..
