Voltron- beyond the stars

9-Voltron

It was a bit tedious getting all of our lions to line up, but we parked them in a perfect semi circle as Allura instructed.
I silently wait for the hangar door to open and reveal the Black Lion. After 10,000 years this better work. Shiro patiently stands in front of the door awaiting his lion.

I hear a small boom and I slightly move as  Roo does too. The enormous door slowly grinds open revealing the Black Lion. I could tell it was way bigger than the rest and it had badass wings.

The Black Lion straightens itself and bellows, which causes our lions to reply by roaring in unison.
Phew. That would have been really troublesome and problematic if it didn't work.

Alarms suddenly blare, and a video feed of a ship descending onto Arus is played on my screen.
"Sedak is entering the atmosphere!" Allura cries.
"We need Voltron, now!" she urges.
"Let's go team!" Shiro yells over the com.

I crack my fingers. It's go time. I pull on Roo's lever, flying up through the tunnel that Shiro was heading out of. As we get closer to the end I can immediately tell that something was wrong. There were loud booms becoming more apparent, and they were frequent.

We emerge and I get a better view on the situation. There are tens of Galra cruisers flying around the castle, bombarding the shield. Shiro flies down to the ground and lands, as do we.

I look around at this mess and see a purple light up in the sky. It gets bigger and bigger, until it becomes a beam heading straight toward us. Our shield will stop it, no need to worry, right? It hits us with an unimaginable amount of force, surrounding the particle barrier in a ball of fire.

The ground begins intensely rumbling, and a deafening crack follows.
What the hell is that?!
Just as quickly as the commotion comes it vanishes, and my screen zooms in on an object in the distance. It looks like that ship we flew away from!

"Man, those Galra guys repair things fast!" Hunk sighs.
"The barrier gets weaker with every blast!" Coran warns, the explosions echoing through his end,"Once that shield goes down, the castle will be defenseless!"
"I can give you cover with the castle defenses for a while, but you have to form Voltron, or we'll all be destroyed!" Allura shouts.
"Geez, no pressure," Hunk mutters.
I stare up and see a purple light forming in the sky.
"They're going to fire again!" I warn.
"We can't do anything!"Allura cries.
"Brace yourselves!" Shiro exclaims.

The laser hits the barrier, once again engulfing us in fire. I close my eyes, hoping that when I open them, the barrier will still be up. I flinch as the explosive boom follows, and open my eyes. The particle barrier is holding up, but just barely. The sections are flickering red, which doesn't look good.

"Listen up Team Voltron! The only way to succeed is to give it everything you've got! The situation may look bad, but we can do this! Are you with me? Shiro encourages.

Yes.

"I'm nodding, is everybody else nodding?" Hunk asks.
"Yes," the boys reply.
"Let's do this!" Shiro yells, as he runs out of the barrier, the rest of us following.
"Uh, how?" Lance questions as we break through.
"Good question. Does anyone have any ideas on how to form Voltron?"
Roo throws up a view of what I assume is behind us on the top corner of my view. Great. The Galra have acknowledged that we've come out and are shooting at us.
"I don't see a 'combine into giant robot' button anywhere on here."

We're nearing a cliff, but our lions jump over it with ease and we continue running from the lasers being fired.
"This is insane!" Pidge cries in annoyance, "Can't they just cease fire for a moment so we can figure this out? Is that too much to ask?!"
On my screen I see the green lion halt, jump up, and snatch a ship out of the air, tossing it into another ship. Nice.
"We gotta do something!" Keith yells.
I hear a crash, and Hunk scream "Combine!"
"Hey!" Keith snaps.
"Okay, so that didn't work," Hunk sighs.
