"Oh my gosh, listen he obviously likes you!" My friend Hanna said as we were arguing.
"Hanna shut up! I don't like him like that! He's just another stupid boy." I said angrily.
"Don't act like you don't have feelings for him."
"Well, it's not like I'm the only choice he has. There's so many other girls that like him."
"Those girls are so fake and basic."
"That's exactly why they're better than me!"
"Why do you have to be so negative?"
"I'm just being realistic."
"Do you want me to leave?" Hanna said as she went to pick up her jacket.
"You can stay. I'm sorry." I replied.
"Okay, do you have any food I'm starving?"
"No, my mom hasn't been home in weeks. Plus, I'm to lazy to go to the store."
"Wanna go to the gas station and grab something?"
"Sure, why not?" I said as I grabbed my coat.
We hopped in my car and I started the ignition. On the radio they were playing psychosocial by Slipknot.
"Oh my gosh, this is our jam!" Hanna said as she started to head bang.
I joined in with her. By the time we got the the gas station the song was over and my anger was washed away by the music. We walked in the gas station I grabbed a peace tea and some white chocolate covered pretzels. Hanna grabbed a Mountain Dew and a slice of pizza. I paid for everything, hoping it would help her forgive me for yelling at her. Then we walked back out to the car.
"Oh shoot, I completely forgot I have play practice today!" Hanna said. "Ms. Randal is going to be pissed."
"Do you want me to take you?" I said as I was pulling out of the gas station.
"Yeah, I guess I'll only be a few minutes late. I'll just say we got stuck by a train."
"Or you could say we got mugged" I said jokingly.
"She probably wouldn't be surprised." Hanna replied.
"Yeah, anything can happen in Gotham." I said as a guy pulled right out in front of me. "Ya, freaking idiot! Watch yourself fool!"
"Look who it is!" Hanna shouted excitedly.
"Oh no!" I said as he smiled and waved at me.
It was him, Jason Todd. One of the most attractive guys in school. In fact he was the only guy that I actually liked.
"I told you." Hanna said.
"Smiling and waving means nothing." Plus, he just almost killed us." I replied as I continued driving.
"But he didn't. Maybe that's a sign."
"Well, you can never give your hopes up." I said sarcastically
"That's the spirit" she replied.
I just glanced at her.
"Well, here's your stop." I said as I pulled into the school parking lot.
"I'll see you tomorrow." She said as she grabbed her drink and her remains of pizza.
"Bye" I replied as she opened the car door and got out.I had a peaceful drive home. I didn't have to worry about that idiot pulling out in front of me again. But when I pulled in my drive way something didn't seem right. I took out my gun and turned the safety off before I got out of the car. I walked slowly up to the door and opened it. No one was at the door. I thought maybe I was just being paranoid. But I still kept my gun on me and checked the house. First I walked through the kitchen. Empty. Then the living room. Also empty. The bedrooms. Empty. Last was my mom's office. Not empty. I found I strange man in what looked like some weird costume. He was digging through my mothers files.
"Who are you?" I said with my gun pointed at him.
"I'm not here to hurt you." The strange man replied. "I'm only looking for valid information."
"For what? My mom isn't a criminal." I said sternly.
"Wait, your Viki's daughter?" He asked.
"Yes, but you didn't answered my question." I said starting to get angry.
"I don't have time to explain." He said in a calm dark voice. "Where is your mother?"
"I don't know, she's been gone for weeks, maybe a month." I replied. "It probably has something to do with work."
"And you've been here all alone." He replied then mumbled something under his breath.
"Umm... Yeah?" I replied a little confused as to why he was concerned about me.
"Would you like to stay at my place? I have some things I need to explain to you." He asked.
"I don't even know who you are and you want me to go to your house!" I said angrily. "Who do you think you are?"
"I'm your biological father." He said it like it was nothing.
